According to the steam browser protocol specification at https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Steam_browser_protocol
We can create commands, similar to a URL, to join a server, for example: steam://connect/85.17.189.117:27096

This seems to work partly, as steam detects which game is running on the above IP and port and starts op Project Cars 2. However the Project Cars 2 client game doesn't properly join the server, instead it only starts up to the main menu.
Hopefully this is something that will be fixed in the next update.

By the way, once this works you might also want to implement this on your server lobby website: http://cars2-stats-steam.wmdportal.com/index.php/servers

This would be nice to see Implemented / Fixed.

Thanks for the support. For the record, this could also be improved on Project Cars 1. (In case that still receives patches)

Yes, we need this and 'connect to ip' option in game.
It's very hard find the server of the friend on the server list.

Any chance of getting a reply from a developer, so we know if this will be fixed or not?
