View Full Version : How to Compare Setups in PC2 ?

Does anyone know if we are likely to see a website like we had for PC1 ?

http://projectcarssetups.eu/#/bycar

I know we can download setups / share them in game (yay :)) - but I really liked the visual comparing of 2 setups in the above.

It allowed me to see differences between 2 setups in a really effective and simple way.

As it is - short of taking multiple screenshots and comparing those - I dont see how we can compare setups now.

The setup files are gibberish in any app I try to use to open them - can we otherwise export them so we can use file comparison tools (ie CompareIt!) or review manually?

Thanks !

Probably not in the nearest future:

I've been thinking about making a similar website for PC2, but atm i'd rather spend my time playing PC2 instead of coding a new setups database/website, as that's what I do for a living. Maybe I'll pick up the project later on when I need a break from PC2, unless someone else has started a similar project :)

I'd be interested to see if the setup files can be parsed like the binary data in the packets. That would make creating a database where you could directly upload your exports fun.

Fully understand :)

It would already be a massive win if someone could make the setup file contents into an xml file or so that way we can compare without a gold plated solution :)

Yeah, that would be huge step in the right direction.. Unfortunately, the .vts files stored in the "tuningsetups" directory doesn't seem so parse-friendly :/
