View Full Version : Too many tracks smoother than a mirror

Hello,

There are a great number of tracks, on which straight lines are as lsse as glass.
I have not tested them all, but apparently there are more than 30
Even the files of Mr Jack Spade not solve this problem.

Hello,

Once again, thank you for your files and your work.

I have a question, concerning the smoother tracks, without grainy. (Micro bump)
For example Indianapolis, in curves and on the zones of braking, we feel vibrations in the steering wheel.
But on 2 straight line, the steering wheel is lighter and there is no vibration in the steering wheel.
On this video we see good that straight line are not smooth and that the steering wheel moves.

My question is, is there a line in the files which allows to give more grainy (Micro bump) work on the track ?

By reading that, I suspect a little that the answer is no, but as it is never known...
All laser scanned tracks and a few others have enough road feel and yes unfortunately quite a few none laser scanned tracks seem a bit boring, thatīs why we now have the artificial
road noise feature which is present in the standard files. In WMD forum I often plead to give those tracks in question the nice micro bump treatment of the PC1 DLC tracks, as you
can see now no success.
Unfortunately yes, the answer is no.

There is a thing that I have a little of evil to be understood.
How were they able to take out a game with so many tracks as smoother as a mirror?????

Any person who knows how to make a track for games as Assetto Corsa, Rfactor, Automobolista ... etc. at his home at the house, will manage to make a track with some asphalt which looks like some asphalt, with microbump.

For me it is an excellent game. He is much better than PCars 1. and it can become a reference among all simulation games.
But there are really far too many tracks, on which have more wants to run because they are too smooth.
I hope that they are very quickly going to correct problem.

What do you have for a controller?, Wheel?, Xbox controller?. What are your current FFB/Controller settings? I have been on a few tracks you listed, and they feel far from being as 'smooth as a mirror'.:)

Please tell us your controller type and settings. On many of those tracks I had to turn down "road noise" just to give my hands a break.

I have a steering wheel G25

I can give you the regulations of the FFB at the moment, but I try many things.

It is the link which would have apparently been found here, on this forum, and shared on another forum.

I have not tested all the tracks yet, but it is true that there is of the most good that others.
But I am not beta tester, I I bought a game hoping that everything works. But I can understand that everything cannot be bon, and that patches will go out. (I hope)
I say only these tracks are bad in the whole lot, on all the length, but only on the straight portions, where the steering wheel is in the neutral.
I am willing that when the car is in acceleration, which front wheels press less on the asphalt. But they are all the same in touch with the track. We should feel a minimum of vibrations In the steering wheel

The problem, it is because on certain steering wheel as mine, Logitech G25 which is former, there is certain mechanical clearance because of the wear, either this mechanical clearance he can be also on new stealing there.
This mechanical clearance, it is what is called the dead zone.
On PCars 1 or on the other games, we can settle this dead zone. By examples with G25 it is 17 %

As you are using a custom FFB file there is a way to remove the deadzone.. have a read here http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?51628-Jack-Spade-Custom-FFB-Files

Yes I saw that we could modify the regulation of the dead zone.

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?51806-RESOLVED-G25-G27-Problem-Dead-zone

But it does not change the fact that portions of straight line are too smooth on certain tracks.

I began with the 17 % that I calculated, then I increased until 20 25 30 % but that remains smooth.

I am running SimVibe and i can tell you those tracks are NOT smooth a mirrors. it is likely that you are just not felling it through your wheel as the others have stated.

Try turning down menu spring. I read somewhere that can cause a dead zone.

This isn't an issue of deadzone. Going from Knockhill to Brno, I noticed this immediately. Where my steering wheel practically vibrates down the straight at Knockhill at speed, Brno I get almost nothing - even offcenter. It's not a matter of it being on-center dead - it's just dead everywhere. I've also been using Jack Spade's files, currently on alt-mid-comp which feels great on Knockhill.

Menu spring is just as it says, it's for the return to center in the menu.

How to change the spring menu?
This is a setting in the PCars or Logtech menus?

Hello,

I solved the problem which I had with these tracks which I found too smoother.

I think that this problem was due to the fact that I had made not the calibration of the steering wheel from the beginning, but having made some regulations of the
FFB.

I noticed it by trying to make what a person said on this subject.
http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?53119-FFB-is-Clipping-My-Hands-Off&p=1372368&viewfull=1#post1372368

I did not have FFB anymore of the whole...
http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?53119-FFB-is-Clipping-My-Hands-Off&p=1373641&viewfull=1#post1373641

I solved the problem by deleting the folder Project CARS in my My Documents.
I put back the regulations FFB of origins, I calibrated the steering wheel and everything is back to normal again.
The tracks that which were smoother than the others, are smoother always, but at least now, I do not have the impression any more to run on a window.
