How in the world did you get crisp looking photos ?
Are you using a PS4 Pro ? because most of use have jagged/pixelated graphics, exactly like the first picture in this thread.

thats not pixelated, just off focus

I think the photo mode filter lot of issues that we see during actual gameplay.
But it's normal, in every game it does.

Sorry I've deleted the post by mistake... I was saying: "Not perfect but all my pictures are from a standard PS4..."

Yes those picture are nice looking and no cheating here apart from color correction done with my phone. The only thing which is not perfect IMHO is the AA missing here and there...

How do you get them off your PS4 ? Is there an email option or is it just Facebook etc ?

Hey Josh, if you're shooting the car at a small aperture (probably anything with an f-stop above f/8), especially if it's a high-contrast scene with a ton of hard light-to-dark edges in the area of focus, might be why you're seeing more pixelated edges. In most games, it seems that edge crawl is most obvious in those situations, and the same probably holds true with the photo mode as well. I generally work around that in photo mode by controlling depth of field so there's just a little softness to edges like that — I might aim for sharp focus on the grill and headlights, but let things behind that like the roof line or the back of the car have some softness.

A few photo tips from an amateur photographer:

You may have already tried some of these things, so no worries if you already know this stuff — but try shooting with any combination of these tips, which I use all the time when I shoot for real, to get those buttery smooth backgrounds:

A) Keep your aperture wide open (an f-stop such as f/2-f/4) or somewhat wide (maybe f/5-f/6), which effectively reduces the depth field around the focal plane (how much space in front and back of the focal plane can reasonably called "in focus").

B) The greater the distance between the car and background objects, the easier it is to blur those background objects when the focal plane is on the car, especially when using wider apertures as mentioned above. You can frame your shot to take advantage of this. Sometimes just shifting up or down, left or right a little can make a huge difference.

C) At any given aperture (for the most part), longer focal lengths (such as 200mm instead of 50mm) yield shallower depth of field, making it easier to blur things in front of or behind the car. Use the drone cam to put yourself at a greater distance from the car, then zoom in with longer focal lengths.

D) Note that there's an interaction between all of these things, especially A and C. If you're shooting from close to the car with a wide angle (like <35mm) or normal lens (50mm), you'll probably really need that f-stop to be around f/2-f/4 to get close background objects to blur. If you're shooting with a much longer lens, you may find that f/2 will start blurring out large portions of the car (you might have the headlight in focus, but the side mirrors might be blurred). If that's what you want, great! If you want more of the car in focus, start bumping your aperture to higher f-stops like f/8 and beyond.

Good luck!
Chris

To be honest, both look great. The orginal PC still holds up until now. But i must say, i like the rendering on PC1 much more, the edges are smoother and the picture is not compressed (2mb is PC1, VS 400 Ko at max for PC2 pics).
All pictures i'm sharing are from Standard PS4.

i understand the sarcasm. And no, it doesn't look terrible at all, hell i even still post PC1 screenshots on the internet and people love them. And PC2 is even miles ahead in terms of graphics....but a step backwards in term of smooth edges.

With that said, i understand that the next patch will fix it.Which only make me more happy than i currently am with the game.

You will notice so much more than just improved visuals. Games run so much smoother on a Pro. I would definitely recommend the upgrade.

Try a standard ps4 and LG 4K tv ,
not all of us can afford top of range tv plus ps4 pro ,
wait a minute I have both standard and pro ps4 ,not a lot of difference ,
i am confused as half the people are saying bugs galore and the other half saying pc2 no faults what so ever,

I think the pc2 PC version has a lot less bugs to report as it was done inhouse but consoles were subcontracted out and the subcontractors should have gone to SPEC SAVERS ,
boy oh boy my youngest sons eyesight is pretty bad but even he noticed it ,
please don't get angry anybody as opinions are mine

The first thing people with issues should do is ensure sharpening is lowered or off completely on the TV/screen. On our Samsung UE55KS7000 (uhd with hdr) I have sharpening on 20 maximum out of 100. Looks great but improved anti aliasing will obviously be of benefit.

PS4 standard photo mode untouched... The same quality in gameplay would be top (AA and Filtering)
