I'm on pc playing on a 65 inch TV with wheel and pedals. Seems like everyone is using cockpit but I feel like the helmet view is more immersive. What are everyone's thoughts and please give a reason why. Looking for fun and fast so any advantages?

Cockpit view at 100%. It's what I'm used to on a 27" monitor. I have my T150 on a wheelstand. It's called gaming on a somewhat lower budget, but it doesn't seem to hurt my TT times.

Cockpit view 99%. Sometimes in a lmp I tend to use the roof cam because with my FOV set to 58 the Closed cockpit of some lmp cars are to tiny to see what is going on arround me.
Other than that I play with cockpit view.. love this way of racing...

I mainly use 3 views:
the view cokpit: it is the most immersive for me but it is difficult to find the braking points.
the roof view: I use it when I have too many difficulties with the view cokpit. I like it because it allows to have a greater field of vision.
The helmet view without helmet: I remove the helmet option and this allows me to have a cockpit vision but with a more limited field of vision. The sensation of speed is diminished but it is more realistic.

Cockpit/helmet with a dash of roof or bonnet but overall cockpit is winning but when I struggle with vision I move on to one of the others.

Chase cam feels weird in this game ! Can’t use it for some reason

In single player I race in helmet cam, just for a more immersive feel.

Online I've always used chase camera for any racing game because I like to keep an eye on other cars around me. Now I have a wheel and pedals, using the chase cam feels really weird and unauthentic. Now I use roof cam set to 80. At the start of a race I still revert to chase cam so I can see all around the car and (try) avoid the inevitable first corner crashes. Then when I feel it's relatively safe I switch back to roof cam. I feel the height gives me the best view of incoming corners and I'm able to manage corners more precisely.

Cockpit view, using triple 27" setup, angled at 45°, eye to screen distance 60cm.

Edit: virtual wheel/arms off.

I use a T150 wheel. I play on a TV so I don't have the advantage of that triple monitor stuff. All of my buttons are occupied so I cannot look around. For those reasons I use the chase view. If I'm not around others I will use the roof camera.

i race inside cockpit and rarely look around it takes some getting used to but it can be done you just have to be cautious if you are inside or outside of some one

Helmet cam only for me but with helmet, arms and wheel removed. Only reason I use this view over cockpit is for the look to apex feature. Full Fanatec setup with 47" TV and Wheel practically touching the TV screen. FOV set to 68

Most of the time cockpit, occasionally helmet. Sometimes in closed cockpit LMP cars when racing online with others I will use roof can for the extra visibility. I'm using 24" 1920x1200 screen.

Also how much look to apex is everyone using?

Don't like using look to apex as it feels strange especially if you happen to get loose under braking! Maybe it's something you need to use a lot to get use to.

Neither do I. I race worse with the look to apax turned on..

Always used cockpit cam, recently switched to helmet cam as I like the look at apex aspect. Playing on PS4 on a 37 inch TV either with my God awful Thrustmaster T80 or a controller because I can sit on the sofa and be comfortable

Helmet cam majority of the time, but will occasionally switch to roof cam when in a lot of traffic while playing MP.

Yes I feel like the default look to apex is too severe. Decreasing the look to apex but keeping it on feels more immersive to me. Not sure if it's faster

Have you tried different graphic settings?

Helmet cam in this game as this is the only view to work for track ir. 91 fov and occasionally I'll go to chase view on sp just to listen to the fat sounds of a particular car .

No. I’ve tried so many and that’s the best for me. Any lower and the apex’s like the first chicane at monza are far too big and I can’t see enough of the track to make the correct corner race line. If that makes sense.

In game seat moved as far back as possible. I'm gradually working my way through all cars and changing seat position.
