It has been three weeks since the game was released and I've yet to see any moderators or developers (as in: representatives) on the Steam forums?

I find it strange, since there are literally hundreds (me included) of people in need of help and over 1500 threads left unanswered.

When can we expect matters to improve and what will it take for you to come on Steam and help us?

They mainly use these official forums for communication with the community.

Why people insist in using anything but the official ways of communication is beyond me.

probably because steam is the official shop front and drm and overall platform for the game

Doesn't matter how you slice it. To me "it's how to not use internet 101".

Like asking for help in competition forums :D :D :D

Steam is where you can get it... same for a gazillion other games. It's not official for any game unless it's stated otherwise by the developer I guess.

https://www.projectcarsgame.com/ <--- Here's a DN for everything pCARS related

Roll over "Project CARS 2" ... first option "FORUM"

There are other official channels for PR/communication and with a bit of luck you can get an answer there actually but still...

I can deal with it personally to some extent, but I think it's a bad practice.

and how did the 1500 thread starters all miss the pinned thread pointing everyone here.. it's been there for months ?

Forcing that user-unfriendly nightmare on your users instead of a dedicated own forum is bad practice. Not the other way around.

I just received a very strange message: "this guys continually just looks for reason to ***** (https://i.imgur.com/H9qsfPC.jpg)", not sure what that was all about, but that is clearly not my intentions or why I waste my own spare time.

The faster people like myself get help, the faster we can get back and actually enjoy the game and I don't see the problem in that, only good things will come from constructive criticism and asking questions.

And coming here for help/constructive criticism is just as many clicks away. So whats the problem?

Hmmz, disagreeing with someone is one thing, but giving 'em bad rep for it? Here, have a like from me to offset it. :)

I'm going with "never".

I find it incredible anyone actually uses the Steam forums for anything at all. They're the Mos Eisley cantina of Steam.

Yep. Not all steam users of the game have a profile here. It's easier to ask questions on steam, instead of registering on a new forum.

I think it would be wise to respond to players who are in need of help (despite of them being unwilling and/or unaware of this forum) and close a few troll threads to keep it clean, because "goodwill" goes a long way.

Feel poor for those guys.

PC gaming is not easy, there are so many things that don't work or can go wrong and if you don't process the skill to even google a question or try to fix it yourself you're screwed.

PC stability, correct drivers, correct settings, etc etc.

I still believe PC gaming is and never will be plug and play.

Couldn't agree more. I'm distinctly middle aged and if I can do it..

Completely irrelevant. Developers aren’t, by law, required to use steam forums for product support. I know clicking an internet browser can be very tiring for some steam users though. But what kind of an inept loser couldn’t find this forum?

I wouldn't say its completely irrelevant, not if you have an interest in the long term success of the game, the brand and the company..

Agree 100%. I find it hard to understand too :) I'd call it aggressive marketing to go into the Steam forums to help out.

Because steam forum is the first port of call for so many games and particularly with games that have a plethora of workshop items. The steam community is a lively forum that you don't have to register for. I only come to a forum like this one if I am really into something longer term (which I am with PC2) If I registered with individual forums for every game on steam, that would require me to join about 90 sites!

Indeed.
I have never had a benefit from after posting anything on the steam forums and that's only when it is my last last resort.

it's either ignored entirely or berated into ignorance.
I'd say let them sit there in their ignorance.

If you can't Google something.
