Hi all I'm new to the forum and Project cars 2 I had the first one but had a crap wheel so never played it much but have now bit the bullet and bought a new wheel:yes: and a vive :)
The problem is I'm old:no: and slow:no: so thought you guys could give me some advice on where to download good setups or just some guidance to improve on my lap times.
The video is a typical lap time for me around Spa which I recon is about 3-4 seconds off the pace.

You can download setups in Time Trial mode from fast dudes. You need to try different setups, not all might work for you and your driving style.

I don't know if you are old, but you are definitely not slow :) Or at least I am sure you have much potential to improve. I have 3 quick remarks:

1. It's better to do your tests in a controlled environment, so I suggest to go to time trial with that combo and see how well you're doing, comparing yourself with other people at the exact same conditions.
2. You are upshifting too late, you stay on the limiter for a second or so, before moving the next gear, you can hear this by the engine sound. Go to next gear a bit earlier, I am sure this alone will gain you some time.
3. I think your lines are generally good, but with more practice you will realize that it is possible to carry more speed through many of the corners, by going on throttle much sooner. Right now you lose time because you coast too much. Instead of telling you about each specific corner, I think you can find out yourself, just load a ghost in time trial that is 1 or 2 seconds faster than you and try to follow it, you will see at which corners he is gaining time in you, so you will need to push more there. Then load a ghost that is even faster etc.

Btw, for reference, currently my best time is 2.19. I know I can improve on that, though.

Please give us updates about your progress with this!

Hi, welcome Automan! 65 here. Do I win?:D You can drive my Ferrari at Silverstone National, it's set up tight, you can loosen it up to go faster if you want. Or just drive it better.:(

Thanks for the replys and valued comments cpcdem.
I had a go at an online race at the redbull ring today and managed to hold second place right up to the last corner of a ten lap race, its a steep learning curve but I'm having a blast along the way.
