259 AUD... that will most likely 199 € then. Interesting, but I will pass probably.

I paid $399 for the carbon so a branded Mclaren one for $260...
I'll have to wait for next year now anyway :(

Sure wish they hadn’t needed so many screwholes in the front...

Picture removed from OP, since Fanatec posted it by mistake.

Ugh! OP, can you IM me the image? I have both BMW and Formula rims, I’d really like a modern GT rim, but not sure it’s going to offer more than what I already have. I’d love to be decided on my preorder ahead of time.

You know, I know Thomas from a few years back, and that sounds exactly like him. Especially if you're the only one who pasted it because it's not on any other forums or google searches.

From Fanatecs FB page. Thomas replied to my comment on the Fanatec blog about being all plastic. Should be a great rim, and I think it’s the cheapest rim they offer... with DD on the way I’m sure they took rigidity into consideration.

I will definitly get it. A little bit disappointed about the extra 99 for the ClubSport Quick Release though.

Is it a different mechanism than there other wheels have? Like the BMW andFormula runs?

Yes, it is a sort of simplified system. If you change rims on a regular base you really need the CSW QR, no need for the locking pin/screw then. (If you manage to enter the Fanatec site, pictures of the McLaren wheel show both systems).

I managed to place my pre-order (after trying most of the day). If I get news about a Podium series GT3 wheel I can still skip this one.

Yes, the mecanism is the same of the cheaper wheels: "simplified CSL Quick Release (https://www.fanatec.com/image/cache/data/wheels/CSL%20RP1X/CSL-RP1X-Big_05-1000x666.jpg)". Not quick release as the BMW/Porsche... wheels. If you want true quick release as previous wheels, you need this accesory: ClubSport Quick Release Adapter (https://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/steering-wheel-accessories/clubsport-quick-release-adapter-black-eu.html). Future wheels will work in the same way. Cheaper wheels with standart release, and quick release optional.

I think that from a business point of view It’s the right choice of Fanatec, for € 172 I couldn’t resist and ordered the McLaren gt3 rim.. At € 280 I would have had my doubts..
