It is not clear if all the painpoints have been fixed.

Quick question for you then, since it's not in the notes, and the issue still seems to exist.

The main issue we are having for online races is the inconsistent weather between drivers. IT is looking more and more like this is less of a Dedicated Server issue, and more of a net code issue since it is now also appearing in some P2P lobbies as well according to reports here. This wasn't resolved in this week's patch. Can you tell us what the status of this issue is?

Thanks Elmo got 3 way Multiclass to work using -selectds with my server set not to control game and setting it up in create online in game :)

Would love to know how to get this to work on stand alone dedi using lua rotate as enabling "Vehicleclass id" forces that class only so cant be the first class of car in Multiclass slot setup :)

The Real Weather / Number of Weather Slots is a known issue, we are working on get that one fixed

So from those notes, none of the issues we're having have been fixed yet? Can't say I'm not disappointed, running a Dedicated Server is seriously limited at the moment.

- In game server browser still not showing all available servers (I seem to be limited to 50, even after following the suggestions pinned in this forum)
- Bugs in the server.cfg settings (weather/session time settings swapped)
- Weather settings ignored in lobby (always "Real Weather")
- Lobby full of AI cars first time lobby is joined, regardless of settings
- Practice session limited to maximum of 2hours 20minutes

We had an issue last night were the race finished and as soon as it did it restarted with a reverse grid at night on the same track and car, this was reproduced on dedi and then P2P, any ideas?

Just wondering, will it be possible to create a dedicated server with specific broadcast / director clients that is also open to the public to join?

Hi again, I could take a closer look at the issues you are pointing:

Some of the configs are most likely overriden by the sms_rotate LUA plugin (activated by default), whose default config has another set of flags and another race date. It can be disabled by commenting the line " "sms_rotate", " inside "luaApiAddons" section, with "//".

* MinimumOnlineRank: 4, MinimumOnlineStrength: 1200. ONLINE_REPUTATION_ENABLED flag on. No online rep shown at all in game.
* PIT_STOP_ERRORS_ALLOWED flag ON. In game: OFF
* RaceDate in server.cfg points to 1/12/2017. In game: 27/04/2017 -
-----> Could not reproduce (YES, with sms_rotate on, with other set of flags).

* DriveThroughPenalty: 0, shows YES in game client
* AllowablePenaltyTime: 5, shows 15 in game client
* COOLDOWNLAP flag OFF. In game: ON
-----> Could not reproduce

* RaceWeatherSlots set to 1, shown Real Weather (0 slots) in game.
* PitControl: 1. In game, OFF. (It’s actually ManualPitStops, with a "TODO: rename to PitControl”. )
----> Known issues

We are actively working in fixing the known ones. In the meantime, if you could send over your server.cfg in order to find out what's going on with the other three errors I couldn't reproduce, it would be much appreciated :)

since yesterday I can't join my DS anymore with -selectds method, it's in list but when joining I got disconnect message
if I use browse online there seems to be no problem and I'm able to join my server

starting next week with a championship, hosting it on DS with -selectds


EDIT: nvm, more drivers in your create settings then the server can handle seems to be the problem

Check your number of human drivers allowed & make sure the server is set for the same number ...

Can you also please add this to your list of items? It seems we are not alone with issues in DS performance problems.

In summary:

Direct PING from Client PC to DS server is 85 - 99ms RTD
Ping withinin game on DS is 300+ms
Ping within game between SAME players in P2P room is 120 - 150ms


Considering that one of the main reasons for using a Dedicated Server is to IMPROVE online race lobby perfromance, this seems to be an issue.

I was initially concerned it might have been something we were doing wrong in our setup, but I now see others replying wiht similar issues.

Just to let you know Elmo my multiclass config problem with 4th odd class sorted was setting my end somewhere.
Still not too sure which setting but all good now working fine :)

The patch notes, that people seem to think is massive, is also vague in this regard. We will find out when we get to test, I'm going to guess the server documentation has also not been updated too

Please respond to this as it seems all linux servers are rendered inaccessible and it might be a good idea to get the attention of sms asap.

I would suggest checking my thread... Weather and Multi-Class has been fixed :) You will need my modified lib_rotate.lua file (or copy and paste over yours from the code sample) and sms_base.lua (for multi class name usage instead of value) the rest is optional.

I do not have a Linux server (ill fire up a vm and test soon) but will see if I can help out.
