I just wanted to know, with the recently released info about the Fun Pack, is the release date going to be before the end of this year or early next year? It’s just some sites said “releasing later this year”, and other sites say “releasing in the winter”, which would start January next year. I assume it will most likely be the latter, just wanted to get confirmation.

Unless things are different in your part of the world, the start of winter in the northern hemisphere is December (tomorrow), which is the start of summer in the southern hemisphere.

I think it could be an early xmas present :)

1st of December is my birthday, so that would be a nice gift... Wink wink.

Really looking forward to blasting some snow into the crowd with the RS2000! Rallycross is greatly underappreciated.

What an awesome pack!!!
I can't wait to drive the S1 & DS3......Bronco is very interesting as well, wonder if it will be classed with the Ford F150?
I am absolutely addicted to the Rally X in this title :)

Definitely not by me. It is awesome. I very recently bought a fanatec handbrake just for that! :)

The Meteorological winter starts on the 1st of December but the Astronomical winter starts on the 21st December ;)

I suspect just before Christmas.

I wouldn't mind a bit of fun packed under my digital Christmas tree in the form of this DLC.

Still... I simply want it released when the team thinks it is done and all is working as it should. No matter if it is December 1st or on my birthday on February the 22nd of next year.

The sooner the better though. I mean THAT Group B stuff in there just looks stunning and I just can't wait to have the Madness Engine finally do proper justice to these beasts of old.

All that remains is having a nice uphill like Stelvio to drive these cars upon for fun. I always find a twisty and tight mountain road always a nice challenge, especially when you need to learn a long stretch with many blind corners.

I'm interested in the Bronco. I enjoy the F-150, and I bet I'll like the Bronco even more.

Will this amazing dlc come with a RallyX update and features?
Ex. Ai update as there pretty slow and not very competitive...slow off the start, lack straight line speed and can't carry speed after landing jumps, and brake far too much in areas they don't need to.
Mp needs needs a race weekend format added instead of the current 1 race and done.

I was thinking, I've barely touched a fraction of what this game has, I don't need any dlc for awhile, but this is something I'd really be into. Might as well get that season pass now.

Omg, theyve put the GT turbo Maxi in the game! Thank you SMS. Just wondering if someone in the know can clarify. The article I read about the expansion pack mentioned the "RS2000" as a new car and some people on here too. I was looking through the still shots in the article, is the car in question not the RS200? which was the mid engine Group B car that weight about 4 grams!? The RS2000 iirc, was a 2 litre version of the MKII Escort that had a pointy front nose instead of the flat one on the regular car.

Anyway, I'm her excited about the new stuff coming good job SMS and thanks for including one of my favourite cars of all time. :-)

Are there any plans for a long Baja course or track to cater the brocky and rallycross vehicles. Looking forward to this dlc I like the addition of rallycross now if you could add some more vehicle class like Baja with a few decent long courses would be awesome, doubt it will happen this game but the addition of another off-road vehicle class other than rallycross would be nice

Really enjoyed the Murray Walker commentary in some of those old videos. 'No smoking allowed in an escort' was a great line and the driver door opening during a race was a sight to behold. Presumably the brands hatch dlc won't have a joker lap, just old school racing?

Can't wait. Hopefully there will be some on-line servers to play...

Well if peoples are thinking a pre Christmas release, we only have 3 weeks to go. IF that is the case, rather than having all the teasers we had last time, if the pack is known, lets have each car get its own preview write up to get us excited and interested in these new beasts. Maybe one each day for the 8 days prior to release. Oh, and the same for the tracks too!

I'm pretty sure, the FunPack is the final for this episode :D We, "hardly", a fun havers, have now pretty much a big and strongly very much content to play/tune/sense for :)

And I mean, this is a lot for drifters and others who wants to slide their way on the road or even in the race to challenge skills and so on in PC2... I myself salute for the FunPack definitely :)

@TerminatorGR

So you want them to be like all the other sims on the market and focuse on GT3? Now that seems boring, the Rally X is what seperates PC2 from the rest of the competition and extremely happy they choose to add it as now I have everything in one title and have no need to jump from game to game to get different styles of racing.

Ive tried several rally titles over the yrs but could never get into them due to the physics and handling models. As someone who does alot of offroad and loose surface driving I feel SMS has done an excellent job simulating the physics and handling........so much so I hope they consider doing more in PC3 or even a solo Rally title down the road :)

No its not a circuit racing game its a motorsport game so "enough" of your narrow minded circuit racing BS lol

I quote from the official project cars website;

Project CARS 2 is the second instalment in the best-selling and critically-acclaimed Project CARS motorsport franchise developed by Slightly Mad Studios.

Building on the success of 2015’s chart-busting, multi-platform Project CARS, Project CARS 2 takes the franchise and its fans into a blistering new era of motorsport simulation with the largest track roster ever seen on console, a wholly revamped out-of-the-box gamepad experience, 5 motorsport disciplines, 29 motorsport series, 180 cars from dozens of elite brands, and over 140 revolutionary “living”, organic tracks in 60 locations , to bring you the most authentic racing game ever devised.

This is your Ultimate Driver Journey.

Azure Flare

Besides, RallyX was going to be a part of the game from the start. I remember back in 2015, when development started, the first RallyX track was Wildcrest, and then Sampala came next.

So, we dont have all of them yet. There GT3s, GT4s and especially many touring cars that must be added to the game before anything else.

I love GT3 and it will end up being the class I use most, but the last class that needs more cars added to it is GT3. Literally every other class in the game should get priority over it when it comes to new content.

GT4 there is a couple missing that 'should' be added, but the class has enough variety without them.

Touring cars (assuming you mean modern BTCC/TCR) are fine as it is as well because they'll all drive the same. Once you have one rear wheel drive touring car and one front wheel drive you have them all.

Whilst I personally would love the game to focus on GT and sportscar racing exclusively and be less jack-of-all-trades (at least ditch the single-seaters), I'm aware it's not going to happen and suggesting that your personal opinion represents all others and that these are objective is just not on IMO. Feel free to show that you're not interested in this content, but it was clear from the season pass graphic that this would feature off road content.

dodge33cymru
06-12-2017, 11:01
We could use more GT2s as well.

I'd argue there's only one more built to the current ruleset and I'll eat my hat if it doesn't come with the Porsche pack or Le Mans pack. New BMW and Aston obviously too, but we have a version of each. When the Porsche is added, this will arguably be the most complete class going.

Come on guys, I'd love a Lexus GT3 too, but we know what the first 4 packs are titled and it's not going to be in those, so no point bringing it up in every DLC thread for a year.

RacingAtHome

The best thing about Touring Cars is variety. Watch any Touring Car series like modern BTCC/TCR and you'll see what people love. Variety. Sure, I'd rather they kept the in game TC class to TCR spec FWD cars and had a Super 2000 class where we had the BMW and pre-2014 WTCC cars and a BTCC class. But we don't which is a shame.

Plus, they don't all drive the same. Stefano Comini doesn't complain about the Audi RS3 LMS being a tank for the fun of it and didn't in the VW last year.

Couldn't agree more. There's so few people interested in Rallycross (purely because it's too hard to control the car in a game) that it just doesn't make any sense. And those tracks... C'mon now.

Anyway, it's going to be the first DLC I will not buy. Just not worth it for me. Not about the money, but for the fact that i'm just not interested in rallycross. Release proper tracks with proper race cars, charge me £15 and here's my money. But not for this.

I have it in Japan too. While it's a nice DLC it shouldn't been the first one dropped. It's such a minority that from a business perspective it's the wrong move.

I disagree, I think SMS are trying to do something a little different to the usual, and many of us are interested in all forms of motorsport and will approach something like this with an open mind.

I think the grid arrangement is still bugged if you did not have a qualifying round. The E type always start at the front of the grid with the Nissan at the back. I remember the Nissan is not that bad, somehow it always starts at the back of the grid last.

I've done a few races with this class and the E Type is just the quickest, and the Nissan simply the slowest. I'm loving the Nissan though but would like something other than another Nissan to race against. I'm struggling to get within 1.5 - 2 seconds of the first non Nissan per lap on some tracks

I've found doing a multi class with Vintage GT B to be a good compromise as the Nissan is only slightly faster than the Merc and BMW

"Hard to control in game" ... are you joking? The rallycross car physics in PCars 2 are awesome and very easy to control , I love them ... just wish more people would race them online instead of GT3 cars all the time!!

They're not hard to control but they are most definitely not what the majority of players wanted for the first DLC. If the season pass DLC really is quarterly then that means if people like me who want the Porsche and Ferrari packs, then we would have to wait upwards a year. No DLC in between then they should have given us a majority pack first...

Dude, you keep making the same point. It is noted I am sure. I don’t know what else you expect. Them to withdraw this DLC and give you the rest instead?

The DLC included in the SEASON PASS was vaguely described but it was clear you would get four packs over a year or so, and the titles of those packs were given.

You weren’t promised anything more for your money. You weren’t promised anything sooner.

How do you not grok this?

You buy a season pass, don’t expect to love everything equally. It is why many wait and buy packs they want individually. But the developer is providing the promised content and they are doing so on their promised timeline. You bought it before you knew the order of the future content’s release. Seems you drew the short straw on this one but come on, man.

I'm not saying that the RX aspect is bad, it's actually pretty good (apart from the AI), I would just imagine it's a fairly niche aspect of PC2.

Read this quote:

and his Mustang '66 RTR, a big-block V8 Trans Am-based 1966 Mustang Fastback made specifically for Project CARS 2 by Vaughn and his RTR team

Sounds trans am based to me, not drifty. But I haven't got the pack so don't know.

For us historical "purists" TRANSAM based isn't the same as TRANSAM :).

The TRANSAM 66 Mustang had a small block engine - they were limited to 5 litres - not a big block. You don't need Vaughn and his RTR team to create one because they already exist, just like the 69 TRANSAM Camaro. Vaughn and his RTR team are associated with drifting - but I may be wrong and this isn't a drift car. We shall see in a few hours :)

Just want to say how great it is to see Brand Hatch RX in the game. I used to go to the annual British Rallycross GP years ago as a wee nipper (and still have one of the programmes :o) so for me this wreaks nostalgia. I'm glad we got this version and not the one used in later years which used Surtees, McLaren and Clearways.
Shame Hoppy's drop is used as a Joker Lap but not complaining at all, great to have this track along with the group B content.

From my brief try with the new DLC (5 - 10 laps per car) you've done a great job SMS.

I don't care for the Bronco or drift mustang despite giving them a chance, and I'm not keen on the Barcelona RX track. It feels too tight and awkward for the cars that race on it, and I never felt like I was anywhere near the limit of the car, but at the same time not able to push any harder. It might actually be the ideal place for me to try the RX Escort as I haven't tried that yet.

However the rest of the pack is phenomenal.

All three Group B cars take some getting used to, but for the few corners you get it right are possibly the most rewarding cars I've driven in the game.

The modern RX cars are what you expect. Surprised there are fictional liveries for the Audi though (not a bad thing) as I don't think I've ever seen fictional liveries on an Audi in any game ever??

The 66 Mustang is the star for me though. Looks, sounds and drives awesome. Now curious to see how it fits into its class seeing as its a bit older than the rest (or at least based on an older model)

Oh and Brands RX is fantastic.

Hopefully someone can compile a full list / images of which cars there are new liveries for. Haven't had time to look through them or the new career events yet.

Massive Kudos, and thanks for the great pack.

You don't speak for 'the majority'.

He does Ian ,

I think he's planning a take over lol

I bought the preorder but things went wrong and no ones fault,

Anyway I bought the season pass on my dusty ps4 and having blast last night ,

So much I didn't go to bed until 7am , classic jag is brilliant and and although I haven't race RX yet the other cars I am more then happy,

So invest in the season pass and you will have both RX and race cars to race and available now

OMG DEVIL DEVIL DEVIL, A DLC BEFORE A PATCH! OMG!

Shot me, you can't release a DLC when my right anckle is messed up!

*Use manual clutch and lift the thottle

1 Foot heel and toe. Let's build him a special device.
Brake pedal as usual. Clutch as usual. But behind the clutch pedal we weld a tube that leads vertically over the brake pedal and overlays the tip of the throttle pedal. If you push the throttle at the bottom, you miss the tube and accelerate normal. If you hit the tube on top of the throttle, you automatically push the clutch and the tube then pushes the throttle so you blip it. One foot only. Heel and toe with one foot by braking and hitting the tube instead of rather just the throttle. And start a race by Heel and toe using the tube and the clutch. Tadaa. 10 times easier than just enabling the silly auto clutch. :P

This is my favorite sim by far none of the others can immerse me as much as this one. Can't wait to get the Porsche and Ferrari packs. Although I am curious why there are no Subaru in the game? For us historical "purists" TRANSAM based isn't the same as TRANSAM :).

The TRANSAM 66 Mustang had a small block engine - they were limited to 5 litres - not a big block. You don't need Vaughn and his RTR team to create one because they already exist, just like the 69 TRANSAM Camaro. Vaughn and his RTR team are associated with drifting - but I may be wrong and this isn't a drift car. We shall see in a few hours :)

I had imagined it was going to be something like this RTR 66 Mustang

https://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Hoonicorn-Mustang-01-626x382.jpg

Well I was wrong. It doesn't seem to be a drift car. It only has 400 bhp which is very low for a big block but right for a sub 5 litre TRANSAM type engine. It should be close in performance to the 69 Camaro. I just don't understand why they produced a fictional car rather than a real 66 TRANSAM Mustang or better still (to race against the Camaro) a 69 TRANSAM Mustang.

Don't have a handbrake so been avoiding the RX stuff - but this is how you do DLC right. Focused series and a nice Mustang bonus. Getting a DLC pack with cars that don't race against anything else in the game? Annoying. I want stuff to race against, not hotlap with.

RX is a very big thing in Europe though...
Which part of Europe? I know for sure that it's not a big thing in Eastern Europe. Especially if you're not specifically following RX.

"Hard to control in game" ... are you joking? The rallycross car physics in PCars 2 are awesome and very easy to control , I love them ... just wish more people would race them online instead of GT3 cars all the time!!

Loving the crap out of the '66 mustang.
And only thing I am missing so far for the Broncko is a patch dessert\beach or something with no actual track on.
It must run free !

SMS. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

A Rallycross fan's dream to have BOTH Lydden Hill and Brands Hatch RX circuits!

Enjoying the rallycross feature so much on this game now since the patch and can't wait to get hold of this DLC

I would love to find some way of having a tribute to Jenson's dad in the game somewhere. We are getting very close with this pack.

When I brought PC2 l thought I'd never bother with RX but as it turns out I love it. I would love more RX dlc, even a stand alone game. After l set up my Thrustmaster shifter as a handbrake l can't stop playing it. I'm still at the beginner stage where i'm fascinated by hand braking round corners on the mud and gravel, it's great fun. l would love to see more mud on the windscreen though.

Superb pack.

The RX and Group B cars add a LOT of content considering any track plus water or snow becomes a rally track of sorts.

Most of us probably play PC2 for tarmac racing, but if you don’t pop into the test mode once in a while and play with various cars and weather settings, you are missing out.

I actually love the rallycross in this game, and would love to buy this dlc except there are some considerations that are currently preventing me from doing so...

1. Do the rallycross career events get updated to support these new tracks?

And if not...

2. Can we expect a custom offline championship mode that'll support creating proper rallycross events in the manner it is presented in career mode, with all the heats and qualifications?

As nice as more rallycross cars and tracks sound I really have no interest in running a few single session custom RX races, that'd entertain me for maybe 20 minutes or so.

Basically this pack excites me, but I don't think I'd like it much due to the game not having offline championships so I think I'll just have to hold off until there's a game mode more suitable for enjoying this particular content. Looks great though, look forward to the opportunity of enjoying it sometime!

The Fun Pack is a non-event for me. I have no interest whatsoever in RallyCross or drifting so there was never any hype there. For those that enjoy those classes you no doubt got a decent pack with nice variety of vehicles. I did try the Ford RS200 Evo on tarmac which was quite good actually.

Are you disappointed in the entire season pass or because the first DLC wasnt your cup of tea?
The cost here in Canada is $32.99 on steam for the season pass.....this pack alone was $13 so if I bought them all seperate I would pay $52.....I saved $20 so if one.....hell 2 packs are bad out of the 4 I still pretty much break even plus I get the season pass bonus cars aswell. Pretty happy with the cost, especially since I am a new Rally X fan. I flew to Germany the opening of the DTM season back in May @ Hockenhiem as a DTM fan never experiencing Rally X, to be honest there was more of a buzz for the Rally X than there was for the main event. The second the checkered flag dropped thousands of people cam rushing to the rally X course to grab there seats.
Wasnt sure what I was in store but it definetly lived up to the hype....especially for someone with ADHD it the best of everything in motosport crammed into 10 min lol
Pretty much every FIA RX race I've watched seemed to have an excellent turnout, GRX that runs here in north america not so much.

Anyways excited to try out this DLC....just dont know which one I want to drive first :)

Fair enough if you like it. As I said, it's probably a cracking DLC for those that like these types of cars. I'd probably like them more if I had a wheel but alas.

As per disappointment - it's probably true strong of a word, but I wouldn't have bought (and haven't) any of the first two DLCs. I suppose the base game gives me enough content as is. I would have rather preferred more tracks than more cars. There are plenty of the latter ones already. I end up playing Assetto Corsa and Raceroom purely to race on tracks that other games don't have. Also, DTM in R3R is awesome and I'd love to see those cars in PC2.

The Group B cars make this one. I've fallen for the Renault. The RS200 and Quattro are pretty even IMO. I actually expected to enjoy Brocky more. I like it, but I think I'll need to explore it some more. I'm not a drifter, so I don't really care for the Formula D Mustang. The other Mustang however is what I wanted for a long time. It's not a Shelby or a Boss, but this will do. The RX cars are like the rest of the class, they accelerate like they're on crack, and I fail to keep up with the car.

Had some time to drive most of these today. The two standouts for me are the Bronco (man that thing is way more fun that I could have possibly imagined!) and the Renault R5 which I kind of suspected I would love.. and I do! Also the Quattro drives pretty much exactly as I thought it would and is thus slightly boring in my opinion, compared to both the R5 and RS200.

So far the pack has been worth every penny.
