As you can read from the title I found a small discrepant in the model of the Nissan GTR GT3. When you compare the model we have in the game to the one from RL you can notice that the diffusor is completely missing. I know it's a bit nitpicking but a sim is a sim and have to be as real as possible to the real counterpart :p. Sorry I dont have enough forum posts to insert a picture link

so, generally what happens is that the companies provide videogame devs their show/display cars for them to scan/replicate in-game. Nissan's 'show' car might be an early built chassis that wasn't 100% complete with all the aero bits, but the specs of the car are for 2015.

I could be wrong, but this makes sense.

I forwarded your report to the devs.
Please be aware though that this is a "cosmetic" issue and therefore might be lower on the priority list than some more serious issues. :)

Technically the diffuser isn't completely missing - it's there. It's the vanes that are completely missing.

Is this maybe the reason why the GT-R is so tail happy because the diffuser isn't producing the downforce it actually should?

This is a good question. Does this "wrong" diffusor work as intended or is it only a cosmetical bug.

What ? :suspicion:

This isn't CFD, it's a sim, they could have half a car and still put the values they want to have it drive like an F1.

Took me 10 minutes to google and realise what a diffuser is then another 10 mins studying 4 pictures and come to the conclusion, I still don't know whet the feck I'm trying to see what's missing lol! you owe me 20 mins

Those fin looking things under the rear bumper, help with down force and aero. Google the Vantage gte, those diffusers stick out like a sore thumb

Yeah or maybe the M8. BMW basically took a diffuser and attached a car to it.

He's referring to the things you see which are sort of like "fins". They are called "vanes" on diffusers.

To the OP, it's likely the the photos or scan that Nissan provided SMS didn't have vanes on the diffusor. I'm not sure which SMS got from Nissan but IIRC, it was the 2016 model before it was actually being used and sold so there may be some small differences.

Corvette 2016 Le mans diffuser. Don't know if it's accurate because I found it on Google. https://www.google.com/search?q=2016+corvette+le+mans&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=-FOIU1ghe_VS1M%253A%252CGbt7eI3Lu8FVyM%252C_&usg=__93E4Db9HqdIGEO3JOxRJjOOMYu4%3D&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiHurOK76vZAhUM-2MKHQWGB8UQ9QEIRjAF#imgrc=HLJ19hO8hCL_2M:&spf=1518833333260

The car in the game is the 2014-2015 spec car.

This has been discussed a lot but although the game says 2016, the car is visibly more accurate to the 2014-2015 car. The 2016-present C7.R has a number of differences, including the diffuser.

Folks, all vehicle 3D models (including every skin/color variation) are sent to the manufacturers for approval. Unless there is a request from a manufacturer, there is little chance that any current model will be altered.

the in-game C7.R probably has the 'performance' figures/data of the 2016 spec, to be able to complete with the 488 and Ford GT, but the visual 3d model and liveries are from the 14-15 car.

here are 2 good articles showing the old vs the new
