Iím planning a new rig for my ps4 and was considering adding a curved monitor. Iíve only ever plugged the ps4 into a TV so am not completely sure how to go about this. Iím thinking about us8ng a cockpit like the GT Omega ART, so with that in mind, what sort and size monitor do you think would work well? Are there any limitations I should know of please? Iíd like to keep costs down to 500 bucks if possible. Many thanks,

Just know that the ratio for the ps4 has to be 16:9 - so the screen should be 1080p or 4k or be able to handle that view ratio. It will not support an ultra wide screen. Otherwise, most monitors are HDMI compatible now so that makes it plug and play.

Sound is another thing to be aware of. Not all monitors have an audio out, so be sure you know how the sound will be handled.

The cockpit should tell you what VESA mounts it supports so you will have to make sure the monitor you pick will also fit the mount.

I'd go 4k if you have a PS4Pro rather than curved. And if you don't have a PS4Pro, I'd spend the money on a smaller 4K TV so you DO have the money to trade up on a PS4Pro. Graphics get quite a lot better on the Pro. Console implementation doesn't match PC visual options, and you won't be able to widen out the FoV enough that the curve would matter.

Spend your money where it does the most good... Get a PS4Pro if you haven't got one.

Actually, another question - is there a preference for size of the TV? If it’s mounted to a rig, I guess you wouldn’t want it too big or too small. Is there a sweet spot 8n terms of size please?

Hi dude I have a pretty good curved pc monitor https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Predator-Widescreen-Curved-Monitor/dp/B014F9QHVC/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1522841974&sr=8-14&keywords=acer+predator+monitor but because its not 4k you get huge 4inch bars down the sides or they stretch the screen to fit and it doesn't look very good IMO.I also went and got a 4k tv https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-UE49KU6670U-49-Curved-Ultra-HD-HDR-4K-Smart-Freeview-TV-Grade-A-No-Stan-/173149382440?hash=item285081e728 when I got the ps4 pro I have a small room so 43inch was big enough and you have to think about the weight on a rig you don't want to much wobble ;) they do look nice though side by side on my big desk in the bay window both hooked up to the pc in duel mode that's 70inchs to mess with lol

The bars down the side are not a 4K issue. They are a PS4 issue. PC's can output wider than 16:9 aspect ratios (if you have a wider aspect monitor attached and have a graphics card that supports it) but PS4 is hard wired 16:9 only.

Black bars are due to 21:9 ratio not being supported by PS4. PS4 only outputs at 16:9.
