had a go with the Indycars at Indy. with Chev prac and quali u get 719hp/434 torque looking in the telemetry screen. but get to a race and u can only get 659hp/39x torque (cant recall exact number). similar for Honda in prac but only 650/392 in race. same setup. same if u try 60% AI or 120% difficulty what gives?

I can try and test it, what are session time and date, which platform, how many cars on the grid?

Don't Indy run additional boost (effectively the P2P from the road course) in Q only, they don't have the extra for the actual races.

But it's always on in quali, so technically it's different, maybe it's irl regulation thing, but it is what it is :)

IndyCar uses numerous different turbo boost levels in real life

Super Speedway: 1.3 bar (Indianapolis uses this IRL)
Fast Friday and Qualifying at Indianapolis: 1.4 bar
Short Oval: 1.4 bar (Texas uses this IRL)
Road & Street: 1.5 bar
Push to Pass: 1.65 bar

When this formula was released, the publicized estimated horsepower was 550-575 HP at 1.3 bar and 675-700 HP at 1.5 bar. Whether that's accurate, I don't know. The 2.2 liter turbo V6 formula has been in play since 2012, so I think it's fair to say that some horsepower gains have been made since that time. It's believed that the road course horsepower is in the 700-725 HP ball park currently which is right in line with what PC2 has them at.

Regarding Indianapolis, it's typically about 4-5 mph that teams gain when going from the 1.3 bar boost to the 1.4 bar boost for qualifying. It isn't exactly accurate to compare practice times vs. qualifying times unless you're looking at "no tow" speeds from practice.

well i guess that's pretty cool if its modelled on the real thing.
im on PC.
TT mode is the same as the race HP/torque.
private test/practice/quali 721HP 38.880.
TT 659HP same setup 40.044.
same setup except for fuel. defaults to 5litres for TT. think i had around 30 litres in private testing. both had 25% radiator opening so probably 0.3 or 0.4 can come off both those times

just ran TT radiator opening 0% 39.620 so yeh 0.4 faster
