View Full Version : Is accelerated tyre wear broken?

We were running a 2.4 hour race at Bathurst last Saturday on a dedicated server, with 3x tyre wear configured.

A lot of our drivers (me included) think that tyre wear was actually not accelerated in the session at all. It was easily possible to do half the race on a set of tyres, some were even thinking about double stinting.

Before the patch, we ran a few practice session on that dedi with 3x tyre wear and pretty much established that a one-stop race would be a stretch.

As this was not the case in the actual race, we suspect that this setting is currently not effective. Has anyone made the same experience?

So you're saying that it used to work? With the latest patch, some tyres were changed as well so maybe you're seeing that instead of accelerated tyre wear having changed? There was a discussion about tyre wear recently here, you should search for that as it discussed whether certain settings were effective in-game vs on DS.

The question is now if it's related to the new GT3/LMP2 tires or if it's a Dedicated Server issue.

yeah it's possible that the tyres just got more durable. Before the patch there was a lot more wear in any case

Think also that tyre wear x3 probably don't work (I didn't tested after the patch). It's not avaliable in the UI, and when I tried to use it in the DS config file (following the manual), I get normal wear. Try with x2, that it probably gives you more wear than x3.
