Hi all, so I'm working on this little guy. I think he's coming out pretty cool.

BUT, this paint job really needs the matte painting as a base (while the stickers are glossy). Now, I'm aware of some of the tutorials to do this with the Specular maps.

But I'm still not sure how to do it. Once I create the necessary file.. where do I put it? Doesn't the game use only one single file to make the custom livery? If I just save a livery_fresnel and livery_spec file alongside the lotus_49c_livery file in the directory, will the game recognize them/use them? Does it need to be saved alongside as lotus_49c_livery_fresnel.dds, for instance?

Thanks guys.

Hi,

You make this livery for pCARS1 or pCARS2 ? These tutorials works fine for pCARS1 but not for pCARS2 because we are not allow to use matte and fresnel effects and I do not believe we can use in the near future :(

We seriously need matte and chrome painting for custom liveries. Their absence is heavily limiting liveries' design choices.

Unfortunately putting spec and fresnel maps alongside the livery doesn't work, I already tried.

correct. spec and fres are not enabled for PC2 for custom liveries for some odd reason.

There is a thread on RaceDepartment that talks you through how to enable these effects but you need to unpak the bootfiles and do a lot of behind the scenes stuff at the moment.

Oh, nice. Can you send me the link of that thread on RaceDepartment? I'm not finding it over there. Thanks for the info.
