Ive started the tier 1 indy car series and have seen the indy primary tyre and the alternative tyre, Whats the difference?

Is one a harder compound?

The other tyres in the range are pretty self explanatory, I think sms need to give some clarity on some of the tyres amongst the cars, Show an image of the tread and tell us the compound of the tyres etc.

The Black Tires (I think primary) are the harder compound and the Red Tires are the softer compound

In career mode Indy races on the road circuits I used the Primary tires on front and the alternate ones on the rear to balance the tire wear.

nice one, even though mixing compounds is illegal in real Indycar racing. But hey, who cares to match reality (not blaming you of course, but the game to allow this)

Pretty sure last years NASCAR all-stars race at Charlotte had two tire compounds and someone tried mixing them, did not end well iirc
