What are the track conditions you're experiencing this with? Light rain or heavy rain? If the track is saturated enough with water I think it becomes very difficult to maintain tire pressures because the tires are constantly being cooled by the water and you cant go fast enough to keep the pressures up. It is another part that makes wet racing difficult

My tactic is to ignore temps but make sure that the pressure is correct. I often increase the pressure about 10% in the hope that this opens up the tread pattern to help clear the water from the tyre.

I do think cold tyres work well in the wet with temps far less important than in the dry.

Your tires will get cold then no matter what if the track is super wet
