hey guys,
trying to setup the Polo for the Community Nordschleife Winter Hot Lap. the default setup is not doing. Currently ran a time of 8:15:22.
issue: I cannot get the VW to rotate. i would like the car to rotate mid corner?
Currently car is in the ultimate under steer mode... I have tried all Differential settings and On/Off throttle always under steer.
any tips?

Hi, sorry you didn't get a response yet. There are only a couple of TT setups with Ghosts, did you look at these? The rear ARB is low, you can try increasing this, also the rear Toe is at 0.4, you can try reducing this to 0.0 and see if it changes in the direction you want. The rear power ramp can go lower while increasing the front power ramp angle to see if this shifts in the direction you want. I see your previous run at 8:25.999 +0:38.556 so you have improved, do you have a goal time in mind?

Hi, sorry, I was only looking at the one TT Ghost setup that was available in TT to see if they were doing something different with their setups. For some reason there are many errors with WRX cars at Nords. Some of the Ghosts don't have their setups attached.

I didn't see that you made a run in TT at Nords. I did find JESUIS007 who is in 4th in the Community event at 7:57.559 +0:12.100 who also made a TT run at 7:02.819 and that setup is the one available. Don't know if he had changed it much for the conditions in the Community event. You can check out his setup in TT and see if he has done anything that might help you with the rotation problem you are experiencing. He is 4th in both TT and the Community Event.

Just a question, are you sure you can even run a Custom setup in the Community Event? I thought they were Default only.

Ok ,it's not showing up on mine for some reason. I only have your run from 26/12/2018 14:39. Do you know for sure you can run a Custom setup in the Event? Nevermind.

Uh oh, the WR is now much quicker and Jesius has dropped to 5th. OOps nevermind, WR hasn't changed someone just went ahead of Jesuis.

I guess you are running the ICE tires but have you tried taking Jesuis TT setup and maximizing the ride height for the heavy snow?

This is from VTROM n the general section for snow driving.
"Setup-wise i always made the rear tire pressure low for maximum traction while keeping front tires fairly high-pressured to compensate for understeer. Also, maximum camber angles and very small steering ratio to get the car as responsive as possible."

How do you get a ghost setup? Usually on the left under car I can click add ghost and choose one with setup. On this TT we don't have this option

Yes you are correct, no way to do this in the Event. In the Game TT you can share the only one available which is Jesuis'(he is the only one who has run both) and make your adjustments for the Event. Such as increasing Camber and changing tire pressures as suggested by VTROM.

so ur saying to go T T get his setup save it, then go community event and use it?
i have tried all combination. i thought car rotation has more to do with front/rear diff setup

Yes at least it's worth a shot, after you make adjustments to ride height, camber, tire pressures. On your STEAM query others have also mentioned that you need to change your driving technique as well for snow. Also your EVENT time still has not updated from your 8:25.999 run.

Hi, sorry about this. On the other hand you seem to be doing much better with the GTE at Bathurst EVENT.:)

The VW Polo damper setup has some extreme bump bias, which is great for RX but bad for track racing because it causes exactly what Cbrriderr describes. US on corner entry and OS on exit.
Give this damper setup a shot:

It has slight rebound bias which helps turning in and keeps the rear stable under acceleration.

If it feels too oversteery, stiffen the front springs one or two clicks.

so i kept Jessui007 setup but put front tire to 22 and lower rear to 19. then see images for diff setup.. on 2nd try got this time. with a spin out recovery on carosele. i could have saved probably 3-5 sec.263190263191

I was able to open the 1st image, Power Ramp still at 35. Can't open the 2nd. So it looks as though you have really increased the preload from his settings, which would lock the tires together more, and this helped pull you through the heavy snow on entry?
Congratulations on figuring this out.

Yeah the carousel must be extra fun in heavy snow.:) Do they give you any slack on the penalties for exceeding track limits in the snow?

no if you go off track, lap is over. must start again
