For the life of me I can't get a good setup here. Anyone have a good base? Xbox.

Hi, you didn't say if you are on a pad or wheel so I picked a patch 5.0 gamepad setup from PC Time Trial. There are other setups here if you would rather have something different. http://cars2-stats-steam.wmdportal.com/index.php/leaderboard?track=2050315946&vehicle=820529698
If you go to the Setup Requests for Consoles thread there are links in post #1 and also many setups for various cars/tracks. http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?64820-Setup-Requests-for-Consoles(pictures)-Post-Patch-7-0

Thank you, and yes I didn't think of that. I'm on a wheel. Have a decent setup control wise, just can't find speed. I'm fast everywhere, have found COTA a tough one to crack.

I do appreciate the link, see the speed list, not sure how to find the setups.

Sorry. If you don't find the setup I posted is working for you you can pick another person in the USER column and I will post the TT setup for you. For example if you would rather try ERC # canabeach06(wheel) I can get that for you from my PC TT. All the top 3 setups are from the 5.0 patch, in this patch the LMP2s got new improved tires. I don't think the tire model changed for the worse in the following patches 6.0 and 7.0. When you say you can't find the speed is your car losing speed on the straights or is it that your laptimes are not where you want them to be?

I don't know if you happened to see the COTA thread in the General Forum. There isn't very much love for the COTA track in PCars 2 unfortunately.

If it's not too much trouble i'll try a few setups. Speedwise i'm not sure where i'm losing. My best is a 1:59 and that's really busting out a lap. But for example I can easy run a 1:32 at Imola and my best is .2 faster then the fastest on the Imola list. I'm just slow. Straightline speed seems to be there, but i'm extra slow in corners, especially the the 3 rights then 3 lefts just after the back stretch. I've noticed I lose a lot through there.

Ok, all the setups for TT are using the Hard tires because of track temperatures. I think more people dislike the section you have problems with, except Alex Marques in Moto GP.
I looked up the history of the WR holder, he is good with the Nissan so more ability than setup.

I'll keep working on it. I'm pretty good except now looking at the track map 12-15. That's my bad section. Car really slides all over there.

Ok take your time, since you are good to go on the other tracks it's just a matter of figuring out that section everyone loves to hate. I don't understand why every setup I checked people are reducing camber settings, are the tires wearing excessively?

Yeah it seems most are running camber settings for Stable.

I haven't seen adjustments for the 3rd springs either, these make a big difference at Daytona Tri-Oval. Here I found THR's setup for Le Mans.

I used to hate COTA, had a hell of a time even learning the track. I sat down one day and ran lap after lap for a couple hours. No setup changes, just track learning, now I love the place. I can wear out a set of softs in 7-10 laps, even in the cold or at night. I've got a set of hards to run almost 2 1/2 hours. When I first started I would use other peoples setups and I wasnt fast. I would tweek them to make myself faster and that's how I learned what each adjustment did. I've noticed what I like in a setup is very different from most. I'll be on track trying those setups on Cota in about an hour, will let you know how it goes.

First off, a big thank you. The first setup was pretty twitchy, but noticed tire pressures were through the roof. The 2nd setup I picked up 2 secs on my first flying lap. The 3rd setup, that was different where the pictures didn't show I picked up 4secs on first flying lap. I like the 2nd the best, it's more stable and am looking for a race setup more then a TT. I'll tweek it to get it a bit faster but it's very stable for me. The only thing I have to work on is tire pressures were through the roof on all 3, even after I lowered the cold pressures I was abover 28 psi all around after 3-4 laps.

Oh. Cool that you are progressing.:) Sorry I don't know about the tire pressures going off on you but at least you are adjusting. So even with the brake ducts opened up the pressures are climbing badly?

They are, that seems to be my biggest issue at every track, must be my driving style but high pressures, once I get them right the car is very stable and i'm good to go. Still tweeking now.

Ok. I had picked Mickey's setup because he also set the WR in the Ligier Honda. I was hoping it would be a more user friendly setup but different drivers like different things.

No worries. You really helped out a ton. I'll give that setup more of a go shortly. I did a 4 lap run with each to pick one to tweek. Mickeys setup was 4secs faster for me where the one I picked was only 2secs faster. I'm usually one to like a stiffer damper setup as well. I just did a very consistant and fast 15 lap run. I usually tweek, run 2-3 laps and tweek. I also do all of my setup in test mode, not time trial. If you don't mind I may bug you for a base for a few other tracks.

Hey no problem, it doesn't bug me. You could do it yourself if consoles worked like PC.:)

Yeah that irks me bad. Sometimes just hey how do I stack up against lmp2 cars, oh wait, lmp1 tops the list ect. I could give you a list, but it's kinda long.

Hi, just use our PC Portal to see how you compare. The times between platforms correlate well. http://cars2-stats-steam.wmdportal.com/index.php/leaderboard?track=921120824&vehicle=4053780148

EDIT: In cases where we have the top drivers like in GT3, the times between platforms are good. Other classes there will be more variation because the level of interest differs. Compare your platforms LMP1 times with the WMD portal, there are a few people who take LMP1 seriously on PC.

I do enjoy the LMP1. I'm 9th overall at Imola, top 20 times at 6 other tracks, and i'm no good with P1 setups. I have really just started enjoying driving gt cars. I really like the Porsche GTE and the Audi, Acura, Mclaren, Renault and ferrari gt3 cars.

Open the brake ducts to control tire pressures better.

Finally found some time to really sit down and tweek. Using the WR setup you gave me, which is the one I didn't like. I have the car feeling good, and running consistant 1:44.8s. Off the WR yes, but this is a long race setup. 2hrs is a short race for me. So needed something that would last. I appreciate all your help. I just needed a base to start with. Cota is tough lol. I'll post my setup shortly.

Cool, hope you enjoyed the 24. I think IMSA is the best racing but I don't get to see the Europeans much. Last year's final round had all most of the champions in doubt during the race.:) Normally I could give a rats *** about BMW but all the work they put in working with Zanardi had me rooting for them, glad the BMW team won.

It was a very good race. Am not a BMW guy either but was really pulling for the 24. Wanted Zanardi to get the win. I go for the Penske 6 car, the porsche GTLM, the Ferrari when they show, GTD I like the Lexus team.
