    Wheels - recommend me something

OK, I'm sure this will have been covered before but I've not found anything conclusive. I'm looking to add a wheel to the PC to play this. There looks to be 3 contenders...Thrustmaster T300RS, Logitech G27 and something from Fanatec.
I don't want to make an incorrect purchase so I'm asking opinions from experienced users on this. They seem to 200-350 here in the UK.

    Thanks in advance!

If you have the money for it - Fanatec. Otherwise, G27

Hi. I've been playing PCars for about 2 years and started out using the G27. Its a great wheel and worked fine for me but lack something so i swithed to T500rs, and this feels soooo much better! More real and precise, but the G27 works fine and is cheaper if money is an issue.

    cheers

Thanks. So it seems either Fanatec or Thrustmaster unless I want to save a few 's. Next task is to locate UK dealers for either of these. G27 is easy...PC World.

Can I ask where you bought your wheel from? Thanks.

That would be the Clubsport wheel, yes. That's their top model and the most expensive option. There's cheaper ones of course.

Go for the G27. it works with most sims, good FFB. tho the gear change i found to be a bit clunky and unsatisfying but thats my opinion, others will disagree!
Yes PC world have them so you could be up and running today

Its actually 3 years i've been playing Pcars, and the first 2yrs was with the G27

Fanatec can be quite expensive think they do packages but sure majority of there equipment is sold seperatly i.e buy the wheel buy the pedals and any gear shifters may want, I haven't owned any fanatecs so can't comment on the quality of their products.

I have had a G25 & a G27 in the past they are pretty good wheels I still have my G27 looking to sell it at some point, they have pretty decent FFB but being as they driven by just motors they can be a little slow to react example would be drifting or letting go of the wheel Logis are not as fast as say a T500RS.

I currently have a T500RS when i switched from my G27 to this it made the G27 feel like a toy very strong FFB and very fast wheel higher steering 1080 compared to 900 but I have only really used it at 900,
Pedals are fairly decent can have them in 2 positions formula style or GT style interchangeable wheel rims, does have fixed paddles on the T500RS not to sure about the T300.

After having Logitechs and a Thrustmaster I would probably recommend the Thrustmaster wheels as they also work on the newer consoles as well where the logitechs don't, they also do a pretty good job of updating the wheels firmware and drivers when needed, IIRC Logitech haven't updated their software since 2010 but I guess the saying goes if it isn't broke don't fix it.
