Throttle sensitivity and another minor issue

So I've been playing through the career for a couple of days now and most issues I've had I've been able to overcome eventually, but I've just started the invitational event using the classic lotus F1 car and as soon as i so much as think of using more than half throttle i spin the car, which for practice and qualifying wasn't the end of the world. During the race though I'm really struggling to keep up with all of the other cars due to using such little throttle, the AI doesn't seem to be effected by the twitchy rear end, is there something i can do in the settings or setup of the car to allow me to do race pace?

Also on a side note, does anyone find that the car feels completely different between practice and qualifying and the race?

    I can answer this one:

Free Practice: Green Track without any Rubber on the Track
Qualifying: Some Rubber on the Track - More Grip
Race: Even more Rubber that will build up during the Race...

I wasn't aware PCars simulated rubber buildup on the track surface.

If you run long enough I do believe there will be a racing line.

This game just keeps getting better with the lil things like that right there. Is there a Wiki site up about PCars that has facts like yours about track conditions and what not?
