Nice work Ryno ... I remember it took me a while to work it all out so having this should really give the new members a head start, kudos

Thanks for this tutorial Ryno. Going to print it off and have a good read through. I must admit I currently use Paint.net to do most of my skinning work as i've used it for years for other games yet i do subscribe to adobe for the latest version of photoshop, i've just found it daunting to get to grips with and find that i'm quicker in Paint.net at the moment. Hopefully this guide will help ease with the transition.

Siddo - hope it will be of some help to you!

Biggest advice I can give is to get to grips with the pen tool. It's invaluable. Coming from Paint.NET I'll assume you've already got a good handle of layers, so I won't mention that being important, too :P

I'll try to find some time soon to do up a small wheel painting tutorial.

As a basic overview, you have to make sure your alpha channel is intact. Any graphics you apply need to get a radial blur added to them for the blurred file to look right in game.

Just as a small addition to the above chart from Espen, anything DXT5 needs to be saved with its alpha channel intact.
