    It doesn't quite work like that unfortunately, as the jump is exponential, same applies to frame rate - the reason frame rate stutters is that everything doesn't return back to the main game handler in time to draw the screen, and that causes a delay. However, the actual physics calculations can continue to be processed - which is what causes problems with people cornering when the frame rate takes a hit.

    just stating an example, not facts.
    i know that those numbers aren't correct.

    I was pointing out that a 30-40% gain seems a lot, but when you divide this amoung different items, the improvements don't seem much ;-)

    Im still strugling with the freezing up in a race iin carreer. Last one was around 3-5sec and then released again. Car ofcorse in wall.

    I know i wasnt on the list of this patch. And i believe Ian Bell posted that i could be resolved.

    But all this post about DX12 and % performance boost is really confusing me. Sorry im not familiar with all this hardware or sofware.
    Mayby repeading somethings but im just passionate in wanting to play this game.

    Let me be clear guys.

    30-40% is on PC where the lack of multithreading ability in DX11 restricted us most.

    On Xbox we will see a good gain though.

    The next patch (very soon) adds about 5-7%

    Following that we're focusing on the hardest hit areas on circuits, this is mainly art optimisation.

    The above should get us very close.

    DX12 will add probably another 7% or more to Xbox for us.

    your previous statement didn't say it was for PC,
    as it was posted in the xbox section, i assumed it was 30-40% for xbox.

    It's the old 'new Posts' button problem. There are so many posts coming in it's the only way I can get through enough of them. By contrast, it often means I'm not sure which precise area I'm in.

    Regardless, it's all good news for Xbox also.
