    Oil And Water Temperature Question

Hi All, can anybody clarify the temperature at which oil or water will cause a mechanical failure? I am trying to set a car up and no matter how hot i get the oil or water the engine doesnt overheat! The hottest i had oil and water was 115 was this close to the limit? Thanks in advance and yes engine wear and mechanical ARE on. The HUD never gave any overheating symbol/warning, am i to assume the engine was ok to run at this temperature?

I think after a while at a exreme temp (the water and oil) the motor just blows, theres no power loss or anything thats usually contributed to overheating that I've seen.

The cars are set up by default (the tuning screen) to where they wont overheat easily (the duct to the radiator is open enough to allow sufficient air flow to keep them from overheating). The more you close the ducts the hotter the engine will run, all the while producing less drag to slow you down.

Now if you dont move while bouncing off the rev limiter the water and oil will easily overheat.

I fully closed the radiators purposely to overheat it and then i intended to cool accordingly once i found the limit. The problem i have is... i dont know the optimum oil or water temps

I've noticed that the engine will let go at around 142 (oil temperature) it's really hard to get it up that high, unless you're hitting the rev limiter 24/7 or your radiator is damaged.

Is 140 the same for all engines?

GT3 cars should not go much higher than 110c
