I knew I was lacking pace and confirmed it during the practice where I found myself near the back in terms of lap time. I managed to qualify in 7th after increasing the downforce a few clicks and then I decided to increase it more for the race without ever having tested it. I could not review my race because again I did not have a video even though I saw the recording icon pop on my screen. This has happened several times before. From what I can remember, I had a good start but 5th place had a slight delay and found myself on his left side, right on the edge of the road. I looked in my mirrors and saw that I had space to start taking the normal approach into the first left hander. In the early stages, I saw that I was leading a train and saw many guys behind me exchanging places a few times due my slower pace, specially when approaching the double right hander before the chicane. I still did not feel my car behaving there despite my downforce increase but I could defend myself at all the other spots. During this period, I saw that Senna was much faster in the double hander and knew that it was a matter of time before he made a move there, and when it happened I was fully aware he was there and gave him plenty of room. Now, I had two other drivers getting ever closer slowly and it took several more laps before they got a run on me in the approach to the chicane. I saw that they were crowding me three-wide so I just nearly stopped on my tracks and let them by, there was no need to ruin their race and mine even though I had the inside and it was a chicane of all places! I continued on and saw several cars making a pit stop midway of the race and that is when I got as far as 6th Place. After that I saw Dnns several seconds behind and he kept getting closer to the point that he was near my transmission for several laps when he finally got passed me and I went into oversteer trying to fight him; I spun and he waited for me to pass but I let him by back right away telling him I had spun all by myself. This slowed me so much that Nautilus had a run on me and passed me. Rambo was many seconds behind but I had not stopped for tires so I knew I could have him hounding me soon and he finally made his presence felt on the last lap on the approach to the chicane; I devised a plan which was to drive as close as I could to the chicane and break hard in a straight line while he overcooked it being so close to the inside and bouncing him on the curbs which allow me to repass. The rest was just concentrating in staying in place and I finished in 8th Place. I was just glad I finished my race fairly unscathed.

Now our attention turns to next week as we will be racing at Sakitto Sprint. There is still time to join as we are allowing 9 of the 12 races towards the championship and this is only round #1. If you want to join, you may still do so but have to run at least with us at the private mock full race on Wednesdays at 8 PM UK. We do a companion season for no points on Mondays at the same time using a different car each week. See first post for a quick rundown to some of the important information about our league, the season and companion season.

I made a couple of mistakes but somehow managed a win.

Nice racing Skan we had a good little battle for a few laps. We haven't battled for ages and we've had 2 the last 2 weeks :icon_mrgreen: always nice to race close with you. Congrats also to Dennis who despite his bad luck is getting faster all the time.

I might be missing next week. If I can get the time off work and a Ferry i will be hopefully in the Isle Of Man watching the TT :13: fingers crossed.

Here's the first half of my race. The rest wasn't worth looking at tbh.

Congratulations to The_Bag_ on his 1st win of the season! Also, stupendous performance achieved by Skanda_Five and Dnns84 who finished in 2nd and 3rd!

I qualified in 7th Position and was expecting a long day in the cockpit. My start was on the good side and like any start, it usually is the most dangerous time as we are the closest we are going to be with many of us looking for someone to flinch. I received a tap in the turn 1 that made me run out of bound and slowed me enough to be pass by a few. I recovered and got going again enough to advance steadily over the next laps due to some mishaps by others to 4th Place? right before my pit stop. One of my mechanics had a hang-over and lost a wheel nut and he did not have a back up! so he had to chase it down. Needless to say, this allowed Dnns84 to pull out of the pits ahead by several seconds. I said to myself, "forget about it" so I concentrated once again but he was faster and soon left me behind; now I had to worry about Twittery and legacy who had qualified ahead so I knew they were going to be with me soon. Soon enough I was being hounded and could not keep them behind me as my tires were already giving out and my car was sliding everywhere. In one of those occasions, I looked too long in my mirrors ( I used the helmet view) and made me loose my line on the approach to the twisty section before the front straight and lost 2 positions and finished in 6th Place.

There is still time to join as we are counting only 9 out of 12 rounds towards the championship and this was round # 2. Look through all the information in the 1st post and join us in the Formula Gulf mock race held on Wednesdays in preparation for the official race for points on Thursdays! We also have a companion race on Mondays on the same track; this Monday we will use the LMP1.
I am so happy to be running with a bunch of excellent drivers and do not really care I am midfield. Join us and see for yourself and I am confident you will stay. For more details in our season and other topics, please visit our website. (see signature}. Thanks.

Congrats to The Bag on his win and Skanda on his 2nd place, well done mates!
This was a race in which a lot happened, the Sprint layout of Sakitto is a tricky one and easy to drive into the sand, getting a cut corner penalty or just get launched into the air in the last corner. This made for an entertaining race, lots of overtaking and really clean racing, I'm proud to be in this league with this bunch of guys.
Before the first pit-stop I was about 2-3 seconds behind lmntr and we pitted at the same time. One of his mechanics lost a wheel nut and I pulled out of the pits in front of him, so I really got lucky there because lmntr doesn't often make mistakes so it can be really difficult to overtake him on track.
Next Thursday is round 3 of the championship at Snetterton 200 and we expect rain!
As lmntr mentioned in the previous post, it's not too late to sign up for this season, although there isn't much room on the grid left. Please only sign up after having read all the information about the season and if you're looking for clean racing and believe that having a fun race with a lot of battles (whether it's at the front, middle or back of the field) is more important than winning.
Assists are allowed, so anyone can get to grips with the car pretty fast, but most drivers turn the assists off once they get a good feel for the car (and the FG1000 isn't the hardest car to control).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F0rEt2mqeA This is my full race from Thursday and shows my route to the podium, pretty far from flawless, but I had a lot of fun.

    Round # 3, Snetterton 200

Congratulations to r_whalley89 on his Pole, fastest lap and Winnnnn! Also, very close but no cigar to Zebulin99 on his 2nd Place and excellent performance out of Dnns84 on 3rd Place!

I knew I was somewhat in trouble when I qualified in 10th I had a good start and had gained 1 position by the end of Lap 1. On the next lap I gained 2 positions by an incident that almost took me out as I got launched airborne by climbing on top on an errant rear wing; I landed rather harsh and was expecting the worse and to my surprise I had no apparent damage due to my iron suspension and hence my low pace. On the next lap I gained yet another due to L33 overcooking the second of the "S" turns and now I was in 7th Place; I stayed in this positions for many laps. I believe Rambo had a mishap that allow me to have now 6th Place. I had planned to make only one stop for tires and I was going to get there no matter if I was driving on the tire carcass; I continued driving on dry tires for at least a couple laps after the first rain drop. I pulled in the pit on Lap 22 and watched legacy pulled out of the pits as my crew was still working on my car; not sure if my car had suffered damage during my flight early on. I stayed in 6th for the remainder of the race with L33 always behind and with legacy and jod08 always in front taking turns. I had to work on forgetting about L33 as it was getting very difficult to concentrate as the rain worsen; so I just tuned him out and would only look if he got close enough! I finished a satisfying 6th Place when you consider my race pace which was on the slow side .

Now I look to Bathhurst which I had never driven and I hear it is very claustrophobic so it is good to find out that the weather man is forecasting a clear blue sky race . See you fellows, next week.

We continue to accept new drivers provided that you have the right attitude towards racing, read the website for important details and run in one of our socials on Mondays, Wednesday or at the latest, in the 1 hour long practice prior to the official race. See you fellows next week!

    Bathhurst Report:

Congratulations to r_whalley89 on another win! Also, excellent performance to The_Bag_ and Roundrocket on a well deserved 2nd and 3rd Place finish.

I was trying all kinds of set up changes in search of pace and working to get a consistent lap through the whole race, all the while not having to pit. I qualified in 10th and in order to salvage some good points I needed to execute my plan of a no pit during the race; I was confident I could do it. The start was fine and aligned my car for an efficient turn 1 and saw some commotion involving several cars; I kept the car to the inside and just like that, I had made 3 positions. I went into the first turn up the hill a little apprehensive because I had seen some cars loose it in battle in the first lap when everyone is in close quarters and it happened ! I saw a car parked sideways and made out another position; I was now in 6th! And then another to gift me 5th. I thought I would be okay but then what did I do? I lost all 5 positions gained by spinning in a section that always proved difficult to do. At the end of the lap I saw two ahead making a pit stop and I did not still trying to see I I could handle the damage but then it was obvious going through the twisty sections that I need it repairs. I pulled out of the pits with two in front of me (Rambo and someone else) close together and thought “good”, they can keep busy and slow down a little for me. Fast forward to about lap 15 or so I was now in 7th Place due to others' mishaps but now I had watched jod08 pit and knew he was faster and with fresher tires as he pulled out fairly close. jod08 would close up every time I went through the mountain twists until he was right behind me and made his pass to which I put no resistance. There was no need to block as he had done a good job getting next to me and since I had worn out tires, I simply slowed down and let him clean by; besides my tires were so worn out I was afraid I would slide into him. I finished in 8th Place.

Drivers continue to join and sign up despite the season already started. Check us out by joining in our socials and judge for yourself!

Congratulations once again to r_whalley89 on his Pole and winning! Excellent results in today's difficult race also to jod08 and Zebulin99 on their podium finish!
Despite my valiant efforts, I could not do better than 10th Place for our qualifying session. My start went okay but later I was getting hounded by several drivers that after a while managed to pass me. I also got a few positions after some had their mishaps. Once again I had a repeat of last where I found myself racing against The_Bag_ for most of the race; we exchanged positions several times but then as the rain intensified Bag made his pass permanent as he pulled a gap. In the closing laps, I saw Skanda begin to reduce the sizable gap behind so I had to put him out of my mind until by some miracle I managed to keep him just behind me less than a second. One more lap and surely Skanda and Mattikake would have pass me.
At the end, I was so relieved of getting and keeping 5th Place; it is a wonderful result when you consider where I qualified.

    See guys at Laguna Seca
