Z1 Dashboard version 4.4 now available!

I thought I'd start a new topic for this release. The previous topic had become very large so starting fresh for the new version seemed to make sense.

We have just released version 4.4 of the Z1 dashboard software! It includes a lot of new features and improved functionality over previous versions. It also includes the latest version of the Z1 Server software (version 1.2) and the latest version of the Z1 Analysis software (version 1.1)

Here are the release notes for this version:
    * Compatibility with Codemasters F1 2015.

    * Improved connectivity with the Z1 Server to better handle lost packets. This should alleviate disconnects or freezes if the network connection is temporarily lost.

    * The track map car dots now display the driver's position in the race/practice session in the center of the dot.

    * Added option for automatic shift light (LED) illumination based upon the car's redline. There are 4 options:

All 80-98: illuminates each shift light (LED) individually going from left to right, with the first one illuminating when you reach 80% of redline, and the final one coming on at 98% of redline.

All 65-98: illuminates each shift light (LED) individually going from left to right, with the first one illuminating when you reach 65% of redline, and the final one coming on at 98% of redline.

Grouped 80-98: divides the shift lights (LEDs) into 3 groups moving from left to right. The first group is illuminated at 80% of redline, then second at 90% and the third at 98% of redline.

Grouped 65-98: divides the shift lights (LEDs) into 3 groups moving from left to right. The first group is illuminated at 65% of redline, then second at 80% and the third at 98% of redline.

    * Added an option for the default way shift lights should be illuminated when assigning a dashboard to a car. The five options are the same as the above options. The default is the All 80-98 option. This will ensure the shift lights work properly with all cars across all dashboards. You can change this settings in the display tab of the settings dialog. Note that you can still update shift light illumination points manually once you have assigned the dashboard to a car regardless of this setting.

    * There is now an option for the three Impala style stock car dashboards to use the pit lane speed limit to determine when to illuminate the pit speed LEDs in the tachometer. This is on by default, but can be turned off by unchecking the Auto Tach checkbox in the Car 2 tab of the Settings Dialog. Note this is only available for sims that supply the pit lane speed limit.

    * The pit info dashboard (which is displayed by default when the pit limiter is engaged) now shows the distance in feet or meters to your pit box. Note currently this is only available for iRacing.

    * The five stock car dashboards will now display the distance to your pit stall when you enter pit lane. Note currently this is only available for iRacing.

    * There is now an option to turn off the text scaling for the track map 1 dashboard driver positions. This is located in the Track Map tab of the settings dialog. Turning the scaling off will display more drivers in the driver position area of the Track Map 1 dashboard. The larger the window used, the more drivers will be seen.

    * A total of 8 forward gears are now supported in the Car 3 tab, allowing you to customize when the shift lights illuminate for up to 8 forward gears (as well as neutral and reverse).

    * Updated all plugins for more data transmission.

    * Fixed an issue with iRacing where the driver's car might not be properly tracked between sessions (such as going from a qualifying to a race session).

    * Fixed an issue where the Car Class option within the Track Map tab was not saving properly.

    * Multiple changes and updates to text rendering.

    * Fixed a bug with rFactor 2 where delta times were sometimes inaccurate.

All current users should get a message on their software alerting them to the new version and how to get it.

In the new version 4.4 of the Z1 Dashboard we have updated the track map dashboards. The position of each driver is now displayed inside their car's dot on the track, making it even easier to see where your competition is located.

In previous versions, the list of driver names always displayed 5 names. There is now an option to display as many names as will fit on the screen. So the larger you make the screen then more names you'll see. This can be toggled on and off under the Track Map tab of the settings dialog - look for the Scale Text option.

Z1 Dashboard version 4.5 now available!

Version 4.5 of the Z1 Dashboard is now available! This is our biggest update since version 4.0 came out. It has a ton of new features and improvements. It includes version 1.3 of the Z1 Server, and 1.2 of the Z1 Analyzer (which you'll definitely want to check out and see how it works to help improve you as a driver!)

Some highlights of version 4.5 are several new dashboards, improved server to dashboard connectivity, a whole host of new joystick button input options and more!

If you already own the software you can get the new version by going to http://z1simwheel.com/dashboard/MyDashboard.cfm and entering your order number. If you have yet to try out the Z1 Dashboard please visit http://z1simwheel.com/dashboard/demo...ce=ProjectCARS and download the demo today.

Here are the full release notes:
    * The scale text option now effects the standings dashboard both in-car and in the garage as well as the track map dashboards.

    * When the text in the garage standings screen is not being scaled (ie - more drivers are being displayed) a steering wheel icon will appear next to the drivers who are on track.

    * When the text in the garage/in-car standings screen is not being scaled (ie - more drivers are being displayed) the Safety Rating for iRacing will appear on the right end of the screen. Note you can also click on the car name to remove it and only display iRating and Safety Rating if you prefer.

    * The garage/in-car standings screen now alternates the background color of the rows to make it easier to read the data.

    * The track map dashboards now flash for the rev limiter, yellow and blue flags.

    * You can now use the last X number if laps to determine fuel usage. To do so enter -X into the Fuel Per Lap field in the Car 1 tab of the settings dialog.

    * There is a new Tire dashboard. This shows the tires in a larger format than the telemetry 1 dashboard. It also shows the current tire pressures, brake temperatures, tire wear, ride height and shock deflection. The color used to display the tires and brake temperatures will change as they temperatures rise, giving you an easy way to see how the car is behaving. The current compound used for each tire is also displayed. (Note not all sims support all aspects of this dashboard.)

    * There is a new Formula Dash.

    * There is a new Forumla One dashboard (F1 2014 Dash 6).

    * The settings icon is now displayed on the splash screen even for LCD screen users.

    * There is now a connection status meter displayed when using the Z1 Server. This monitors the status of the connection between the Server and Dashboard. A short green bar is good. This feature can be turned on or off in the Network tab of the Settings Dialog.

    * The process of re-establishing lost connections between the Z1 Dashboard and Z1 Server has been improved. Now if a connection is dropped and re-established within a few seconds, the current state data will not be lost. This means the number of laps run, positions, fuel usage, etc, will all be kept instead of being reset.

    * Graphical updates to improve the display in windows.

    * When using iRacing the Z1 Dashboard's data logging options will now turn on or off iRacing's telemetry option. This is because iRacing's saved ibt files contain more data than iRacing outputs live. So instead of creating a zod file for iRacing, the iRacing ibt file will be created. This will make data analysis of iRacing using the Z1 Analyzer easier.

    * The data logging feature is now on by default for the first instance of the Z1 Dashboard. This means you won't have to remember to start logging laps when you drive in the sim. They will be automatically logged. You can change this setting in the Settings Dialog.

    * The Fuel dashboard that contains the three buttons for add fuel, remove fuel, or fill to finish, which previously interacted with iRacing through mimicking key commands, now interacts using the iRacing API. This removes the need to setup key commands to make this feature work. Now you can just go to the dashboard and press the buttons and they will work.

    * There is a 4th track map dashboard. This one just shows the track map, with no other data. This allows for a larger track map.

    * There is now a Network tab in the settings dialog. This is where you can set any network related properties, such as the IP and Ports for the Z1 Server and Codemasters sims. In addition there is now an option to tell the Z1 Dashboard whether or not it should check for these sims. Turning off ones you are not using can help speed up sim recognition. You can specify whether or not the Dashboard should check for the Z1 Server, the Codemasters' sims (F1 2012, F1 2013) or the Codemasters F1 2015 sim.

    * All the joystick button assignments have been moved into a new tab called 'Joystick' in the Settings Dialog.

    * There are new joystick button options for scrolling windows up and down within the Z1 Dashboard. Any screen or dashboard that uses the green up/down arrows can now be scrolled by joystick buttons if desired.

    * There are now joystick buttons that work with iRacing to allow you to specify how much fuel should be added at the next stop. There is a button for increasing the amount, and one for decreasing the amount. There is a third button which will add the amount of fuel the Z1 thinks you need to finish the race (with a 3 liter buffer). These buttons can be assigned in the Joystick tab of the Settings Dialog.

    * There is now a joystick button that allows you to scroll through the different delta types available. Currently this is mostly useful for iRacing. This allows you to select the delta type you want when you are in the car. This option is in the Joystick tab of the Settings Dialog.

    * Simultaneous button pressed are now taken into consideration when determining whether or not a button has been pressed. This will help in situations where you have hardware such as an h-shifter that continually presses a button. Note this is not for when you configure the buttons, but rather for when you are driving. During the configuration process, the first button detected will be the one assigned.

    * There is now a joystick button that allows you to reset the Z1 Deltas. This will clear any best lap delta in memory and stored on disk for the current car and track.

    * The Z1 Server now communicates all button presses to the Z1 Dashboard.

    * The Z1 Server now handles split/delta times much better. You can save them and reset them just as you can when on the Dashboard.

    * Improvements in handling lost packets and between the Z1 Server and Dashboard. This should improve connection stability.

    * The Z1 Server can now record telemetry for all supported sims. Note that the zod files are saved into the documents/z1server/<sim>/telemetry folder as opposed to the documents/z1dashboard/<sim>/telemetry folder. This is because it is possible to have both the server and dashboard running on the same machine and using the same folder would have caused file corruption issues. If you want the Z1 Analyzer to show the zod files created by the Server you should point it to documents/z1server and not documents/z1dashboard. Also note that if you are running iRacing, then zod files won't be created. Instead the Server will tell iRacing to record the data into iRacing's ibt file format. This can then be read by the Z1 Analyzer.

    * Improved the joystick definition process so the software recognizes the buttons more accurately when assigning buttons.

    * There is a new Track Map dashboard (#5). This one is a combination of the track map dashboard and the timing & scoring dashboard. You get the track map on the left, and the timing and scoring data on the right (current lap time, current delta, last lap, best lap, lap number, position, fuel, fuel needed to finish and laps of fuel left.)

    * The Standings dashboard has been updated. When you are in a race it now shows the time delta between the cars, as well as the fastest lap time of each driver. When you are in a practice session it shows the fastest lap, the delta between lap times for the drivers, and the lap number each driver's fastest lap was set on.

    * Added support for KERS and DRS for Codemasters F1 2015.

Only thing on both dashboard and analyser threads is you don't act silly state what platform they support unless I missed it PC or PC/PS4/XB1

Sorry about that. It is PC only. Not PS4 or XB1.

It should read 'shock defl' (so yes a typo).

It is short for Shock Deflection. (In basic terms the amount of movement of the shock absorbers.)
