Didn't we have a young guy who was driving in the Ginetta G40/junior series back in WMD? Can't remember his name but I'm sure he offered his help, might be worth checking out.

For the Masculin X01 list, would it be possible for you to also add the Mustang GT to the list (that car is realistically speaking a Road C1 machine), and possibly even the new Megane RS 275 Trophy-R?
So I've done some testing and I'll put the X01, but be warned: It's far too powerful for such a low end tyre, it really does need it's real assists on.

Other notable changes to car/tyre combinations are:

    Radical Slick: Radical RXC Turbo

I cant' stand the RXC on it's default tyres, so this mod will put it on the same slicks as the other Radicals. No change to the physics, just a good car getting the tyre it deserves.

    Toyota GT86: Yiro Eco

For those that want an even more drastic reduce in grip for this car. Same tyres as the caterham classic will be getting, the 86 is a bit of a porker in comparison so they'll overheat pretty quick if you drive with excessive understeer/oversteer, but after a cooldown lap they'll be good to go again. It still has the X01 as well.

Perhaps, but the car is fitted with fairly crappy tyres in real life as well. Looking forward to it. =)

Great that the Radical gets the slicks it so much deserves.

Oh, another thing popped into my mind, about the Caterham Classic: Spec wise (power and weight particularly) that thing is almost a dead ringer for the Super Seven 1500 from the 60s. Wonder how that thing would drive with 60s style bias ply road tyres, capable of 0.6-0.7 Gs sustained... That actually applies to the BMW 2002 Turbo and Ford Mustang Fastback as well, which would have been running on those sorts of tyres back then.

I haven't checked the 2002 but I know the Fastback is running bias plys already. Are they too high G wise? I'll see about getting a bias ply vintage tyre for the classic definitely, it will be interesting to see how differently it handles the power.

@Jetpistol I don't suppose you know where that thread is? I can't find it and searching hasn't worked

They're bias plies yeah, but they're vintage racing bias plies hitting in the 1 G range (same as the Escort and the Pig). When the first sporty radials for road use started to come out in the 70s they were a big upgrade on the stability and handling compared to the old bias plies, but still barely hitting 0.7 Gs, so something in the 0.6 G range with lots of bias ply forgiveness sounds about right for what these cars would have had.

I have a magazine with tyre test data from the 70s (radials though, but they have some comparison data with bias plies), if you're interested. It's in Finnish though but I can get you the graphs and translate any pertinent bits if necessary.
