    Now that's something to work with

    Ds9x!? That would explain things that's really only for screenshots. With that setting the cpu won't matter anymore but it also won't be playable I run pCARS maxed out at 1440p and for AA I use High with SMAA at ultra. DS9X is 3x the height and 3x the width of your screen, so way beyond 4K resolution.

    So nothing is broken on your end, the AA was just set too extreme.

    Edit: in my comparison with the 20-30% increase you basically see the IPC improvements from sandy bridge to Skylake.

    Just to point out, going from I5 to an I7 is more than just a Hz increase. Depending on the architecture you are going from and to, there can be significant processing gains even at similar Hz levels between an older architecture processor and a new one.

    that's correct even though I didn't notice a measurable difference between Hyperthreading on or off on the skylake architecture in pCARS

    I didnt bother with an i7 because a xeon is an i7 in different clothing but a fraction of the coast. Xeon in my sig is the same as a 4970, i dont need on CPU GFX and have no need to overclock.
    With 25 cars on track i avg say 80 FPS and avg on track with no cars around about 100 FPS etc.

    @ Mahjik – What are your in game graphic settings? I’m mulling an upgrade from my i5 2500K but I just don’t know how much of an improvement I will get. I know there are other variables but I too run triples using 2 970’s so we have “similar” setups.

    I will have to get all of them later this evening, but off the top of my head they are similar to yours except:

    Vsync = No, AA = DS2X + FXAA

    I'll verify a little later.

    Being a i5 2500k user I was pondering upgrading to a high-end i7 but I’ve been running up to 16 cars in various weather conditions (with rain) with different time cycles and I stay at 60 FPS 98% of the time (on 3 screens) and when it hiccups, usually at the start of a race in the first turn it’s very brief. So with my current settings as they are I don’t think I’ll pick up any worthwhile gains upgrading, at least how I play this sim (but I guess I could run more cars and have thunderstorms and maybe go from High to Ultra settings, lol)

    I have to add adjusting the Jitter Tweak setting so I do not have this stutter issue below saved me from not making this upgrade (at this time).

    Warning I use a w1070 benq, projected on a diagonal of 90", the quality of AA is very visible in DS4x I see the stairs ... and poles and fences around tracks that "flash". ..

    My i7 6700@4.6 ghz, with an Evga 980ti, I average anything from 90-120fps @1440p with 30 cars on track and everything maxed out. It does dip to about 70 at the start of the race, then shoots up after a lap or so.
