There's ~40 setups for the Falcon at projectcarssetups.eu for you try
"Slow is smooth, smooth is fast."
You put your left pedal in, You take your left pedal out,
You put your right pedal in, And you slide it all about...

I can't drive it and as an aussie that bothers me. I either spin on every damned corner or i am dog slow, and i mean dog slow.

I suspect i have "bad" habits from GT3 cars where my style is to brake neither early nor late, get off the gas and the brake, let the car settle a for a millisecond, turn in the hit the gas hard and very early. With this car, i try to wait until i am past the corner before hitting the go pedal but still light it up like a xmas tree, i just have zero ability to stop the wheels spinning even with TC and other nannies on.

In a GT3 car i can do consistent 7's or 8's at Bathurst with a best a low 6, with the Falcon I am at 2.20's, i am that slow.

    Falcon drives nothing like GT3.
The closest car I can think of are the karts.
The front end only responds when you're on the gas.
Gotta drive it from the rear, don't try to tune out the understeer to make it turn.
I'm terribly slow in it too, but I don't feel bad about it.
    It's a garbage car.

Funny enough the regular road-going Falcon XR6/8 are great to drive.

But they absolutely fly IRL, they are only a couple of seconds slower than a GT3 car, the lack of grip is startling.

There are Aussie guys doing 03's and 04's race pace round the hill. Can be done.

Those guys might be the most underrated drivers in all of motorsports. They make driving those beasts look easy and it's anything but.

Thanks for the links to the set-ups HKraft.

Its funny you know guys when it comes to sim-cars that are difficult to drive I take that as someone throwing down the gauntlet to me...lol Its a very definitive challenge. To the guys still having grip level problems try the short-shifting trick it really does work and it sounds awesome too. The car will still punish you if you try to get the power down at high rpms, its just the nature of the beast, the short-shift from 2nd to 3rd as you exit the corner to get the power down will drop the rpms and give you grip instead of wheel spin....give it a try guys. My lap times were greatly improved using this technique.

I also believe that if there is a car you really want to drive you will work out how to drive it, I guess it helps being a Ford fan in the first place, I really wanted to drive this sucker and drive it well. I do agree with the other guys about the Holden Commodore though, I think it would have been better if both makes were available...don't lose heart my fellow V8 fans they could add it sometime in the future as DLC or may add it in PC2.

Cheers guys lovely chatting with you all.

Interestingly enough an online race was opened round bathurst with the Ford, joined in and it seemed like everyone was struggling something fierce. Got a good start and a good exit out of Hell so was in P2 of 8, held it until the chase where i tapped the throttle and rouuuuuuuuuuund she went.
