    Le Mans 2017

    Dear forum,

We are a couple of friends that wish to go to Le Mans 24h race in 2017. We have never been there and don't know about accommodation etc? We are going by car and making a road trip out of it!
What would you recommend? Should we rent a mobile home, stay in a tent or rent a room?

Are there anything we should be aware of while being there? Should we see something, are there places we should stay clear of and places to go?

Thank you all for all your replies!

Stay in the controlled camp site on the outside of Porsche Curves (Type onto google for the guys who run it) it is secure and has 24 hour security guards, and controlled entry and exit points. Some of the general camping areas can have issues with lowlifes rifling through tents etc.

Camping or motorhome is the way to go,If you hve never been it will blow your mind the first time you go....it's like Glastonbury with cars.
Also take bikes so you can explore other areas of the circuit, even though there are little transport trains to get you around the freedom a bike gives you is unbeatable.

    Regards

    Nic

Thank you so much for your reply! I will Google the camp sites outside the Porsche Curves! :-)
Also thank you for your advice on the bikes!

I am sure it will blow my mind - this is our first time (Le Mans virgins!) we've only pulled all nighters in order to watch the entire race, never experienced it live before! We just purchased our tickets and we are already planning what to see, how to get there and where to sleep etc!

Yes MONEYBANKER can't buy you happiness .. BUT .. It's more comfortable to cry in a BMW than on a bicycle!

Mate once you go thats it you won't be able to stay away from the place.

We go once every 2 years, best place to watch is inside Indianapolis corner the speed the cars come into that is mindblowing. Porsche curves gives a good viewpoint by the Michelin Banner across the circuit. Mulsanne corner.... the list goes on.
