About 1980...going to the speedway with my uncle...especially liked the "banger" races (demolition race on an oval...last man with a driveable car wins)
It was freezing cold but nothing that the smell of rubber and a ketchup and mustard hamburger couldn't fix...

1994 Australian Gp. This was the decider between Hill and Schumacher. I literally stood 200 metres from where they had their coming together, but I missed it because I was looking in the wrong direction.

yeah, the thing about live action is that it can't be replayed live. I remember 2 years ago I missed Chaz Mostert hitting the wall at turn eight, and when it was announced I remember looking towards turn eight expecting to see a replay of it.

1998 (or 97. Or 99) Rally GB, aged 13. Wellies on, standing on a soggy bank in between trees, watching Ibiza kits cars, an Almera, a Megane, a Golf (loved thoat blue Sony-sponsored Golf driven by Laukkanen I think it was), then all the WRC cars like absolute rocketships strauight past, round some hay bales....not the most exciting vantage point because there wasn't really any sideways action or chance of a crash, but seeing them all blast past was worth it. Was surprised how quick it all went by then everyone just dispersed off to the next stage. We never managed to find a decent place to watch after that.
