Im Not Noticing a Huge Graphics improvement and anything over a 1.3 the FPS hit is Just Too Bad and Causes alot of Stutter...Driving in the Day time is Fine but Its really Noticable with Night time Driving when the Head lights come on...
20 car Grid, Car Detail Ultra, Track Detail Ultra, Shadows High the Rest are Low or Off.... I think Motion Blur is set to Medium... i will Tray setting it to Off.... Going Back to 1.0 for Now.....

Question what was it set to prior to the update??? This way i have something to compare it against.

It might be helpful if some share what value they can achieve (maintaining smooth FPS/tracking) with [insert GPU and CPU here] to build a little index.
As per the rig and settings in my sign, I can confirm super sampling is not usable in my case (framerate issue) even at 1.2

I also suspect something has changed since the last time I played, because even without SS, I still got a few drop here and there that I didn't got before.
Maybe it is related to async reprojection (didn't test since it was available) or maybe some options have change behavior (as I shown in the HTC thread, -novrmirror did more arm than good in my case)

The variable was already present before and was already set to 1 (but changing its value didn't do anything).
If it's a "scale" like the name suggest, "1" would be the normal value for such a multiplier.

Ok, false alarm, it was just that the async and interleaved reprojection were enabled at the same time (strange to set it that way by default) that was giving me horrible stutters. Enabling one or the other got my smoothness back.

I'm Noticing with a setting of 1.1 there is actually a nice improvementWhile maintaining 44.9FPS most tracks... this makes me wonder if 1.5 and 2.0 are actually too big of a jump... I'm using a EVGA 1070 so if a 1.5 setting is possible i should be able to run it with not a huge problem... Full PC specs in My sig.....is it possible that the increases were meant to go 1.01, 1.02, 1.03 ETC.

I have been testing 5pm with 60x time acceleration on California Hwy Full, 20 car grid Sion FRS mixed car race all same class...The only slow down is at the start of the race 35+FPS after that the FPS stays between 44.1 and 44.9 with for the most part with Nice smooth picture quality (some of the tracks still have Graphicly glitchy parts though... seems Track Graphics related rather than settings related)

aside from being a good test run... racing this track with Oculus is just Hella fun!!! the Oculus, The buttkickers, head phones its like I'm really there!!! Im hooked!!!

If I'm Correct this video describes what we are trying to do with these settings we are just doing it through PCars and not Oculus settings...am i Correct???

Is this a reply to somebody in this thread or just a general comment? If it's the former, then please remember to 'Reply with Quote' in future as it's difficult to keep track of who's replying to who or what. If it's the latter, then it doesn't belong in here. This thread is specifically to discuss the 11.2 patch, not previous or future patches/support .

    Disregarding FPS hits:

Anything over 1.5 will cause serious mip map issues (downsampling speckle). Above 1.5 the image will look WORSE even though the computer is rendering a higher resolution image.

1.3-1.5 is the peak for visual clarity until we get mip map correction (which has a quite large performance cost... so don't expect to be able to use it any time soon even if it is introduced).

My experience with this is that the performance cost is pretty decent so long as Anti-aliasing is not being used at the same time. Any pre-downsample AA has an exponential hit on performance when downsampling is increased. Post downsampling AA will just blur the image and remove any details introduced. In game DSAA used in conjunction with PPDP (the new setting) will also put huge stress on the GPU.
