With all this talk of VR, has anyone tried or owns the PiMax 4K VR headset?

Well just general impressions, if he likes it, how is the quality, brightness, comparison with a rift if he ever tried one. Just curious since the price is pretty good now. No headtracking though

No comparison to other headsets. No headtracking as you mention, but he liked it wrt to image quality (especially for the price) but that's it.

And you have to tinker a bit... well he did because he bought it a few months ago but software might have improved. Somethings were still chinese (literally) when he bought it.

He ran it on a GTX 1060 BTW but it seems he got unlucky. Just discovered his pimax had an issue, got replacement but even with the replacement something's not working, first a black bar and then no image whatsoever...

This leads me to suggest to you, go rift/vive or wait for those LG or second gen VR (hopefully next year if the GPUs can keep up )

    /edit

It seems the lack of headtracking is noticeable. One more thing to avoid them.

And BTW, keep in mind that supersampling has been updated a few times since in openvr/steam... it could've been better now wrt to image quality but this is all speculation.

I find driving in PCARS easier than most other games- using both a gamepad and wheel (albeit had to change settings for gamepad).

I love Assetto Corsa and some cars are very tough to drive, like the Ferrari FXX K.

On AC on PS4 you have very few settings on FFB but then every car is fine and have its behavior. In PCars in comparison I cannot feel the cars. Going through million settings is an hassle and end in no realism at all. Also really don't see why we are able to tweack FFB for every car. Should be encoded in the game, not free to change. Said so, any help on how configure it to match AC feeling?

Disabling Relative Adjust and Scoops helped the most for me. The V2's force curve is pretty linear, though. Not sure how no Scoops would feel on other hardware. That and lowering FF/TF to 75/80.

What wheel are you using? I'm using T300 and my settings in signature. Worth a try.
My wife said I never listen.
At least I think that's what she said.
