WHY THEY ARE SOOO FAST with Standard Setup? GT3

    Hi,

I try to unerstand, why some drivers are soo fast with standard setup and what they are doing differently.

    One example:
I am driving 1:42:9 at IMOLA with standard setup with RUF GT3 (the ASTON is too toxic out of the low curves for me)
    S1 33.329
    S2 42.195
    S3 27.455
    With G29, with traction control,

Best drivers with laptime 1:40:5!!!! with ASTON. Incredible!!

    Weather: clear
    Time: 13pm

    Everybody driving with wheel.
What is the trick to get so much faster?
I think that it has to do something with changes in the standard FFB (not possible to Change the car setup when driving only Standard, I think!)

I have studied a lot of videos, and the line they are driving is perfect, but it can never be only the line to lose 2,4 seconds.

Many thanks for your feedback, opinion, etc.

I would question those 1m40 times being done on a standard setup. The fastest RUF time on the PC leaderboards, for example, is 1m39.5, with the Aston GT3 at 1m39.9 by a confirmed VERY fast driver. All of the confirmed 100% default setup times hover around the 1m42 - 1m43 area, so you're right on the money for a very good, default setup, laptime

EDIT : Another thing, time-trial conditions are different to normal practice/race conditions, so you cannot compare the two. The only way to know how your time compares is to do a time-trial lap

    You are right!
They run 1:40:5 with standard setup.

    The question is:
    Standard setup? Yes
    Wheel? Yes
FFB? Can be, but what changes they are doing in standard setup FFB?
Car setup? Are there changes possible in car setup, when driving only standard setup? I donīt think so!
racing line? Using the curbs and the track limits

What about other driving aids? A lot of GT3 online races have traction, abs and stability available. I find them quite boring to race as the cars are incredibly stable.

If you stumble on a lobby with even just stability control disabled then half the field cannot even drive one lap without spinning.

I've not used time trial a lot, I know there used to be a field to tell you which aids are used, is it still there?

Ah, so this is in a multiplayer race then?

Sometimes we just have to accept that there are people who will always be quicker than us. Through practice and, sadly, innate talent, they will set times that some of us are left shaking our heads at. Sometimes it's about knowing exactly how much throttle to use out of specific corners, knowing the exact spot on the track to start braking at, with just the right amount of pressure, for just the right amount of time.

Mostly, it comes down to practice, practice and more practice.

Also think about real life, there's fast drivers and slow drivers plus the ones in the middle.... we cant all be perfect Like me
