Building new pc for VR and Pcars

Had great results with my i5 haswell and system in dig below but it has been right on edge of good but not great. I always have to dial AA, cars, or SS back to get playable experiafter nice and then there is simvibe on/off for fps gain.

    So I pulled the trigger and ordered a 7700k, Strix z270F, a40 cryptic cooler, gskillz 16gb 3200mhz ddr4.

I will swap it into my current coolermaster 912 haf case, 1070 gtx and ssd and case fans and usb sound and wifi. I can upgrade those as needed down the road.

I will go through my same details when I did VR 970 to 1070 path and OC and hope to get solid 45fps reprojection at SS 1.5 and 2X AA maybe even 4X?

Then shortly I will sell old rig and 1070 and get the 1080TI!!!

With the 1080ti FE out now the real ones should be out for $50-$100 less pretty soon!!
    i7 7700K @ 4.2mhz, 16GB DDR4 3200MHZ gskillz, Asus z270F STRIX, EVGA 1070 GTX ACX SC, TX458, 8020 rig, simvibe, 21:9 34" monitor, Oculus Rift, Generic USB sound card, 2 Aura buttkickers, 2 tactile speakers, TH3A Pro pedals

I wouldn't bet on them being cheaper.....

I know the 1080/1070 FE went that route. They came out like $599/$499 FE day 1 plus gouging. Then in a3 months all the other SC/OC version came out and were on sale. I think I got mine for like $400 ACX version 1070 when the FE was still $500.

Either way I am thinking it will be like $599 for a 1080TI in a few months. Plus with AMD cards coming out might be some deals.

    To quote several reviews

"Unlike previous Founders Edition, the GTX 1080 Ti FE will not come with a hefty price premium, and rather mark the lower end of the price spectrum"

    Dam I missed that.
I like my EVGA boards with ACX. FE is just HSF.... Either way it looks like a beast compared even to the 1080.
I assume/hope the TI over the 1070 will be a huge bump in performance.

Well PC is together and DAM the i7700 was night and day difference. But there is a hit with shared memory enabled. Not sure if simvibe along or just shared memory. That said the new system can handle a lot more. I will bump this thread to general system. Not just VR
