No it won't rotate when re-calibrating the center position, it just defines the position the rim is in at that moment as the new center position, i.e. the 'zero' position.

If you find that the center position is still off, you redo the same thing: activate the LCD tuning menu and press the two buttons indicated in the manual simultaneously, that will set the position to zero for the wheel angle you have moved the rim to. You don't need the flashing 'CAL' text, that's only to remind you after a firmware update that a center re-calibration is necessary.

Just watch the video I linked above, it shows exactly this, only for the F1 rim which requires two different buttons. The procedure is exactly the same, though.

Oh ok now it all makes sense. I was expecting the wheel to start doing something. That's why I thought it wasn't working. I did watch the video which is what I actually did by accident once I thought the procedure had failed. Centered the wheel, turned it off and back on again and it was centered.

See I told you it takes me a long time to get there.

Sorry to barge in, but are you guys talking about the old Fanatec CSL model? Is it actually recognized by the Xbox One? I shelved mine months ago and bought a Logitech G920 to go with the Xbox One because I was told it wouldn't work, but I never actually tried to connect it to the console. That would be great news to me, because it is a much better wheel.

I am talking about the CSL Steering G Wheel P1 https://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/steeri...ox-one-eu.html
Although it shows as a Microsoft wheel in game it works fine

I have the CSL Elite wheel. I can get it to work with PCars, but I have to turn the wheel 180 degrees or more on even somewhat gentle 90 degree turns. I have steering wheel sensitivity to 100%, too. The wheel on the screen shows much less turn than what I have to do and so I think something is not quite right. I prefer PCars for all its options, but it can be too uncomfortable to drive and so I've been spending my time with Assetto Corsa which this wheel works with no problems whatsoever. I do have to say, though, that with Assetto, I'm much more able to control the car (less slipping or what feels like ice skating to me in PCars) even with all assists off except for the "factory on" settings.

Have you calibrated the wheel properly in pCARS, and are you using the wheel on 'Auto' sensitivity? What FFB profile are you using?

    Remco,

    Thank you much for replying.

I went back into the calibration screen in PCars. When the process asks to turn the wheel 90-degrees, I was literally turning the wheel in my hands 90-degrees. That is, if my right hand was at 12 o'clock, I turned the wheel to the right so that my hand was next at 3 o'clock. However, this time I decided to try something new and turned the wheel until the indicator on the screen read 900. This solved my problem!

I've only popped in and taken one turn and had to immediately reply, but this is a big and favorable difference! I still love Assetto, but now I can drive Laguna Seca at night in the fog again.

BTW, I don't know what or where "auto sensitivity" is located, or what a FFB profile setting is and where that can be found. I'm on the Xbone.

I was about to venture PC only yesterday just to realize that it does not recognis my CSL Elite wheel at all. All I get is the wireless controller diagram.
