G29 Brake Range. Is it normal?

    Hello everyone!

I have G29 and obviously Project Cars.

    I found the following problem:

When I drive behind other cars I often hit them at their rear even though I start to brake earlier then they do.

Going to calibration options for the pedals I found the following:
depressing clutch and throttle give immediately 100% range on the scale.
With the brake it peaks at around 40-70%. I have to squeeze it quite long and hard to get 100% range. It is not consistent at all.

Is it normal or my pedals are faulty?

    Thanks!

I would try recalibrateing the peddles. If the results are still inconsistent I would try to clean the brake potentiometer.

The last 30% or so should be quite stiff as it is in real life.
So if your pedal actually does go to 100% in calibration then it should be working as intended.

You will have to learn to press harder

You will have to learn to press harder
Or calibrate the pedals and press as hard as you normally would/can. That'll calibrate the brake to 100% travel. From there it's a matter of adjusting brake pressure in car tuning.
Note: Aero cars are affected when slip streaming, corner speeds and brake distances.

What is your brake sensitivity and mode in controller settings?

    Thanks for your feedbacks.
It turns out that I really have to press the brake quite hard. Then the car brakes much better. Maybe even as it should now

    Sensitivity is set to 40.
    How to clean brake potentiometer?

Mine hasn't needed a clean since I got it 6-7 months ago. I just dust it over the top. Still works fine.
If your pedal box is secure, stomp it. If I run in the morning then race I'll get cramps!
Dault try lowering the steering ratio. I catch it best if my ratio is 10-12:1.

I've been setting my steering ratio to 6.4:1 for everything I drive. I rarely get the wheel upside down and miss-shift which was an issue early on.

The New G29, Brake Pedal has a Rubber Insert to make the Last 30% of the Pedal feel Hydraulic like.
It allows you More Muscle Memory. Press till you feel it stiffen up, then Modulate the pressure to get good braking.

Just make sure when you do the initial brake pedal Calibration, you Press it as far as you feel should be 100%.
