    Button Box's

Do you hook up button box's to your computer by USB chord or are they hard wired into the steering wheel?

USB. They just become another USB device on your PC. The only limitation is with old sim titles. If you ever play some of those, they usually can only support 3 separate devices at once (so that's a problem if you have a wheel, separate pedals, shifter and button box). Current sim titles do not have that limitation.

Ok i was just wondering, because i got so many things assigned to my Logitech g29 iv forgotten what some of them are. i was thinking of getting a button box to assign most of the tasks that are not immediate like wipers and lights and so forth to. That way i can label them on the box.

I've also been thinking about button boxes, as well as that I'm toying with the idea of using voice attack to get some commands like "pit request" spoken and free up a button on my CSR. problem for me is pricing Derek Spears stuff is awesome quality but pricey for me, does anyone know of cheaper alternatives?

Smart Phone is to small anyway as you really need a tablet.

Best bet for a budget button box: Number pad keyboard. Print your own custom 'buttons' to fit the keys and your golden.
