There were others such as AA options as well which had to be adjusted. Like I mentioned, I do remember SMS indirectly mentioning some of the limitations during PC1. If anyone was going to break of the mold of what other manufacturers were or weren't doing on the consoles, it would have been SMS.
I'm not privy to what the console requirements were during each generation, and I don't pretend to be.

What is clear is that there was, for example, no need for players of f1 2015 to have to play from the t-cam because the default cockpit views were borderline unplayable and codemasters failed to include cockpit view adjustments -- something that had already been done on console before. There was also no need for people to boycott grid 2 because there was no cockpit view. These were design decisions plain and simple.

But even all of this is moot, because what we are talking about here is a simple request to add an on/off option for the steering wheel shake, and that isn't something that is prohibited on console.

Interesting timing. It coincides perfectly with a certain semi-popular youtube channel playing pCars 1 again.. and the dude complains about the wheel shaking. Suddenly these kinds of threads pop-up.

Herd mentality at it's finest. Surely something as simple as a visual effect/art direction can't annoy you that much?

(though I agree with you, it's slightly annoying.. as are the shaking mirrors and whatnot that are usually over exaggerated)

    I like the shaky mirrors.
    And the shaky hoods.
I don't notice the wheel shake. On screen wheel and driver arms: off. Problem solved!

The shaking mirrors in pCars are way better than they are in my other sims. As are all grapic effects btw.
Anyone remembering the huge discussion about the raindrops on the windscreen looking do "terrible" ? Try RF2 and see how they look there.

its not problem solved in VR though unfortunately, remember in VR this is the wheel you appear to be holding.

    Same here.

At the end of the day we have a situation where we can remove the virtual wheel and hands assembly in its entirety, but we can't turn off the shake.

Personally, I'm struggling to wrap my head around this. But that's just me.
