I going to recommend HP for their customer service here, even when the headset went bad they were always super friendly and willing to help.

Compare that to the support my friend who bought a Valve Index got from Steam. When his less than a month new headset went bad he didn't here back from them for over a week. There's no toll free number to call them, so you can't even get someone on the phone. By the time the email exchanges were done it took 2 weeks. He received his replacement headset 3+ weeks later and then his brand new sensor went bad, the ordeal for that took another 2 week. He missed most of our early sim racing league races because of that.

This is also the reason why I keep a spare Oculus Rift headset ... just in case the Reverb goes bad and I'm stuck doing exchanges. But HP Support have been so good, they were able to get me replacement between my weekly league races so I haven't even had to touch the Rift CV1.

No need to wait for the RTX 3080, the RTX 2080 Ti with the right settings is pretty good with the Reverb. I've been able to crank up the settings and have really smooth frame rates and graphics. I even tested all the settings on an open cockpit car @ Monaco with Thunderstorms and 24 car grid. The game looks amazing, screen door effect, gone. Distance pixel blurriness, gone. Brake marker and such, super easy to read from a long distance. But I'll definitely upgrade to the 3080Ti when it comes out.
What are the best settings in game and steam VR to get the grahics quality with good performance with Reverb? Recently upgraded to a RTX 2080Ti.

Yes, I did. I set it as close as possible to the Reverb Native resolution which was about 180(ish) % I think. Also I was running PostAA in FSAA low mode but I shut if OFF. I just turned ON VRSS which seems to be better at utilizing the full potential of the 2080Ti without hiccups on certain tracks.

I recently upgraded from a 3770k with a light overclock to a 3800x and discovered that my 1080Ti was getting bottlenecked by the 3770k. With the old 1080Ti moved to the new rig with the 3800x, I was able to bump up most of the settings.

Your 4770k is stronger than my 3770k, but it's probably single-digit improvement where the 2080 Ti is around 30% stronger than a 1080 Ti.

Your 2080 Ti could probably benifit from a CPU upgrade.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I think the CPU (currently running at 4GHz) will be my next target but probably not for a while. It still tends to run at 70-80% during gaming whereas the 2080 Ti will run anything up to 99%.

    Hi guys,
First of all, I'm totally a newbie concerning VR. This week my Oculus Rift arrived.
Now is my question how I can activate the VR mode in Project cars 2. It's low lighted, so impossible to choose.
Do I need another version of this game?

Did you install the oculus software? Your PC won't really know what to do with the headset without it. Steam probably won't even know to provide the "play in Oculus VR mode" option without it either.

You also need to go through the setup process for your headset in the oculus software before trying to game with it.
