Question to all SteamVR users: When I pause PC2 and put my Reverb away for a few minutes, say for a short coffee brake, my computer realises that I donīt wear the headset anymore and after some minutes it closes SteamVR down. Which ends my PC2 session as well, without any further notice before. Is there anything in Steam settings or maybe in the Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR settings that I could change to prevent SteamVR from closing down? Thanks for any advice.

Is it only me experiencing this? Nobody else? Okay, Iīll put one on top:

Since last Friday my mirror on my Full HD screen is only running in 1280x720 and there is no way to improve the resolution. 1280x720 is the maximum that I can go to in the game configuration. Normally I wouldnīt mind much but it is inappropriate for streaming. I even manually changed the graphicsconfigdx11 and openvrsettings but as soon as I start the game they get reset to 1280x720 again. Out if ideas and no clue what might have caused it.

Doesn't SteamVR => Settings => Startup/shutdown do that? I have turn off display after 1 minute, turn off controllers after 5 minutes, exit Steam VR = Never.

You could also put something in your headset where the sensor is to fool the computer into thinking that the headset is still on a head

I just came across that (or a similar?) setting yesterday night. IIRC I can only maximise this setting to 5 minutes. But there was another one called "Pause VR when inactive" or something along the lines which I the set to "off". Hope that will do the trick. Wonīt find out before the weekend though.

EDIT: I donīt think I was looking in the same place as you stated above though. Will take another look. Thanks.

EDIT2: Have checked the startup/shutdown settings. Donīt know what they are in English exactly, anyway: Close screens = 5 min / stop controllers = never / stop controllers when closing SteamVR = off / close SteamVR after = never. I would have expected that the last one would do the trick but it didnīt. Letīs hope for the "Pause VR when inactive" setting that I came across yesterday.

Hello, maybe someone can help me

I just have an issue with my VR headset which is an Acer AH101.
I can't launch the game in VR, i see the "vr menu" in the game's options but in my headset I'm always having the PCars2 logo and nothing happens.

I have installed SteamVr of course, "WMR for Steam VR" of course, the headset works on all my games as assetto corsa, assetto corsa competizione, Zero Caliber,...

I have tried to launch it via Steam VR, but in the parameter menu "Launch in VR" it says that my headset is not compatible.
By starting on Steam, the game launches in normal mode when I select "Launch in VR mode". I can't launch it by selecting "Launch in VR mode (occulus)", an error message appears "You headset is not supported".

I'm pretty sure i juste missed a little configuration tips, someone to help me?
    Thanks by advance

Invested some time to get it sorted yesterday, but still nothing. I renamed the openvrsettings.xml as well as the graphicsconfigdx11.xml and let the game create new ones, but no. Also checked my GeForce multi monitor settings to see whether there is something fishy with monitor resolutions, but everythingīs fine in that department as well. Final guess would be a SteamVR update influencing my mirrorīs resolution but in SteamVR I canīt find anything that seems to be related to it.

Any ideas anybody? I believe to remember somebody else suffering the same issue a while ago, I just canīt recall what the solution was. Thanks.

Now finally I found out myself what causes this behaviour and I thought Iīd share it for future reference. I run two monitors with HD resolution of 1920x1080. A while ago I additionally connected another old monitor with a resolution of 1280x1024 (I believe). Though PC2 runs on one of the HD screens, it stopped mirroring in 1920x1080 and reduced the mirror to 1280x720 windowed as well as full screen (full screen gave me a 1280x720 picture in the top left corner).

Yesterday I disconnected the smaller monitor and everything was back to normal again. Next up I will check whether turning the monitor off is enough or disconnecting it is mandatory.

EDIT: The screen being connected to the computer is enough to confuse PC2, no matter whether it is switched on or off.

Oh HELP HELP HELP - Had 90 FPS now all goofed up!!

Couple of weeks ago I saw an iRace on tv and caught the bug right away! Ran over to MicroCenter and grabbed a G920 wheel and was hoping to be off to the races with our Valve Index. Fast forward two weeks...

I now have a pretty beefy machine upgraded in following order:

    2x 1TB SSDs
    16GB DDR4
    Valve Index

    Saw Iracing...
    G920 wheel
Project Cars 2 (hmm think this could run better. get a new GPU)
MSI Venus RTX 2080 Super (hmm think this could run better. get new CPU)
i7 9700k (oh crap! now need a new mother board.)
    MSI Z390 Gaming Plus

So, as I have been tweaking all along the way I have never been able to get any better than 60 FPS. Found fpsVR so now makes tracking a little easier than jumping over to the steam fps counter on my montior. Watched a bunch of videos and read a bunch of articles but no dice. Then... last evening I took the settings from page 1 of this thread and after tweaking around I did two things. Dropped headset refresh rate (again) from 120 to 90 in Steam VR settings and also turned off MotionSmoothing there. AHHHHH the skies opened and angles brought me 90 FPS. So for about an hour I was experiencing PC2 in all it's 90 FPS glory. As I was fine tuning in the performance settings I was seeing what I could turn up and down to keep 90 FPS to "optimize" things.

Then it happened!! I think it was Reflections that I turned to ULTRA and all hell broke loose... FPS dropped to 45 FPS max and I have been trying to get it back ever since. Here is the weird thing. If I set the headset to 90 refresh I max at 45 FPS but If I go to 120 it gets me up to 60??? I would think raising refresh would hurt FPS.

Folks I am pulling my hair out and could use some guidance before I use the sledge hammer tweak...

Advice appreciated and thanks in advance!!
