But the car really feels diffrent without grip with sudden understeerng or oversteering. With times in qualy 1:48.xxx and in the race barelly can do 1.49.xxx and as the race progresses the situation is just getting worse. Aswell i tought it may be problem with the tires and made a 10 lap run in quali and its not the tires. So i dont think it has anything with livetrack 3.0 or setup. Might be a bug..
    This is what i mean!

Got some screenshots of the telemetry before and during/after you feel/experience this problem?

I thought I got the same issue yesterday. C7R at Daytona road. Sunny 10 lap race. A few laps in on the softs the car started getting loose on entry. Checked my setup: diff coast ramp was nearly open at ~85 whatever default so I increased that to ~40. Problem solved.
Tires were cooking at ~90℃ too.
Soft tires are happy below ~70℃.

So the shadows moved in the Casino Square section and conditions changed during 1 lap and when I hit that patch of pavement my car changed balance and spun. It's actually one of the most impressive things about the game; that actual condition changes happen and are tangible at every level for the driver.

It means you need to be thinking about conditions. When you're doing practice and quali you need to be thinking "what are conditions like now? slippery? grippy? good balance?" and you need to be thinking about how to compensate if these things change. Then on lap 1 and especially in your first braking zone you're not railing the car at the limit but you're feeling out grip levels and thinking about how you're going to be able to race based on that.

Live Track 3.0 is so detailed that I did a race at Daytona in night to day and in the morning the oval was super slippery because of dew (I think). It's done really well and if it's not something you're taking into consideration you're going to be losing out big time to the people who are.
Do you or does anyone know how the buildup / removal of grip between quali and race in the multiplayer server works? Obviously it's not like other titles out there where you can actually specify the time it takes for the grip to build up, but it seems like the removal / buildup is:
    a) at a rapid pace
    b) random.

Does the track resets itself after going from quali to race? And how does the buildup work, is it traffic based or time based, or both (as in, if the server is set in accelerated time, it'll build up according to the time scale)
had a race today where everyone (there were 5 cars in the server, 16 lap race) got caught out by the conditions on lap 1, but by the time 16 mins rolled around damn car felt like it was on rails and more simliar to single player.

how does live track differ in private testing mode? because I've never seen the grip change like that ever in private testing mode.

    thanks

I'm starting to think that grip under braking is also inconsistent. I didn't say anything until now because this is one of those things that is very much skill and feel dependant but the more I play the more I'm becoming convinced that there is something that's causing inconsistencies. Not just between sessions but also from one lap to the next.

That this could have something to do with with live track 3.0 not working as intended definitely did cross my mind.

If you run a custom event (or career event) with P and/or Q sessions, the grip buildup will be transferred from one session to the other.
If you leave specific sessions out the others will start at a pre defined grip value.
The buildup is purely driven by traffic. There's no fake "add xx% grip" per lap/hour like AC handles it for example.
Rain can "wash away" the grip and make the track green again.

I'll report back after our league race saturday. hopefully there are some sessions between now and then where we run some practice races again, because the quali grip definitely didn't transfer over during last night's session. That track couldn't have felt more green.

    thanks for the answer.
