fixed 'look left/right/down/up' assignments for numpad?

I'm using a USB numeric keypad as a cheap man's button box, but it seems I cannot unassign 'look down/left/right' from some of the numbers. For example I mapped Motec on numpad key 8 and even though I have other buttons assigned for looking around (doublechecked the assignments) the camera still pans away each time I press it.

Can those fixed assignments please be removed when the player maps it to another button? Or is this a bug on my end only?

It's not a bug and will probably stay as is.

Thanks for the reply Roger, any reason why you have these fixed camera assignments that can't be overwritten? I don't think much people will reach over to their keyboard for looking around each time if they are driving with a wheel.

    Damn.
I had hopes for an easy wireless numpad button box. It would have been a useful option.

You can still map buttons for look let/right etc to buttons on your wheel.
On my G25 for example I have the two buttons on the wheel for look left/right.

I know. But there's only so many buttons on a wheel.
I have set increase/decrease rollbars on the numpad. Stupid driver looks at his feet while doing so.

I'll ask to see if it possible to change it though.

It's only 4 numkeys though luckily so as long as you map them to a function you don't use often ingame, you won't crash into the trees because you looked left all of a sudden. I bought some colored stickers too and went a bit anal :
