    New noob livery painter problem

I have adobe and downloaded some liveries to test on and I have done some custom paintjobs awhile back in iracing, but I installed the DDS plugin from Nvidia; however I cannot save/nor can I open .dds files in order to load in liveries to test them. This may be a dumb answer but its not as simple as merging everything down and just changing the extension is it? (tried that didnt work) im pulling my hair out at this point

Flatten image > Save as dds dxt1

If the 64 bit extension doesn't work, try installing the 32 bit as well. I had a previous install of windows where I had to install both to make the dds plugin work.

If you just want to look at the dds files - there's a pretty nifty windows plugin that lets you see the files right in the explorer.

i tried uninstalling the plugins in photoshop CC and reinstalling and when I look under SAVE AS, there are no options for DDS. Ive got the process down I think the missing link is being able to actually save my template as a .dds file from adobe

updated my CC2017 to CC2018 and had to reinstall the NV plugin, as CC2018 is in another folder than the old one.
After that it runs w/o any problems again.
BTW, mine is an original licensed version

It sounds like something has gone wrong during the dds install.
Do you get any errors when you start Photoshop? Like: "Could not load the [Plug-in Name] module because it does not work with this version of Photoshop."

    What version is it? 32bit/64bit?

There is no Photoshop CC 32 bit. CC is 64bit only.

Could do what I'm doing. Saving the PSD file, opening it in Paint.net and saving it as a DDS. I could never get the plugin working.
(Problem has probably been solved but I'll post it up for anyone else who has the same issues as me.)
