Hi jan2726, I think there is going to be another patch so maybe SMS will reset the Leaderboards then maybe. At least on PC we can look up the dates of the runs made on the WMD portal so we can tell post patch runs from the previous runs. The people can hide their setups if they want to. Some people really resent the sharing and will not run TT because of this but most appear willing to share, there was going to be a mechanism to show appreciation/gratitude for sharing but I haven't seen it or don't know if it was implemented. Rarely can you take someone's setup and be as quick as they are because you have to adjust many things like brake bias and pressure to suit your driving but trying someone's setup can sometimes give you an idea as to the direction you need to go which is helpful to get you started in making your own tunes.

Sorry PotatoMasher81, there are no Setups like there was in PCars1 using the Setup Data Base. I guess someone could start one in here(The Garage) where people could post screenshots of their race setups but so far you have only Motor City Hamilton(see his sticky) and sometimes KrypticTMG posts a video. I can try and get TT runs from PC and post them here for you but that's about it.

Hi blinkngone, do you might have a wet setup for the 488 GT3 for Brands Hatch, or can you give me an advice were I could find a fitting setup?

Personally I am new to doing setup work, still have too much to learn and understand, but I have found changing setups does help me already (with the help of many people here, like blink!). If anybody uses my setups and they help him, I'd be happy about that. Only if I was in a big league or something, maybe then I wouldn't want to share my setups (if they were any good anyway ).

But in general I don't like much the whole idea of simply copy/pasting setups "as is", I much prefer to know/see/share the setup changes somebody or I made, why those changes where done and what effect they (should) have. OK, there are very few changes that make a car generally faster, for example for time trials you will completely close the radiators and adjust gearing so that the final gear maxes out at the end of the long straight, but usually when you change your setup, you do it to solve a particular problem, or change the car driving characteristics to your own driving style. You may like the car to be oversteery, but I maybe hate it this way and feel better when it is stable. You may find traction control is intrusive, while I may feel it helps me a lot being closer to the limit of grip...So a setup that makes you fast, does not necessarily make me fast as well and vice versa. I really wish there was some way in the setup sharing mechanism to explain the changes from default settings that a setup has, a larger description field for example. Even better there should be a way to highlight in the setup screen the setup items that are different to default setup, things like that.

Anyway, obviously I am not the first person saying something like the above, many others have said that before. But up until recently I wasn't really listening to them, I was still thinking "okay, okay I understand, now give me your setup so I can be faster", but as I am now learning about setups and their effects, I realize that it's more tips I need about setups, than already fully created complete setups. It was fun a couple months ago that I was telling @blink that I had that problem with some car and then he adjusted the setup himself for me so that it would suit me more..but now he has shown me the way and I'm trying to do them by myself!

The title is a bit misleading because setups will work across all platforms since the physics are the same.

If anything, they are setups for *gamepad* users as opposed to *wheel* users (or vice-versa).

Post Patch there is a Road America Honda at 1:48.280 while the best Chevrolet is at 1:50.260, not many people running these cars post patch and they are 3 to 5 seconds slower respectively from the pre patch times. Let me know if you are interested.

No it's because for us console peasants finding tunes is a 'mare because we can't filter down as much as PC can.
