    Texture Flicker

Why does pC2 have such bad texture flicker ?
Ever since getting VR i've noticed the textures flicker so much more than when i was playing on a TV ! I still have textures on High but now just notice it more than ever .
The fences and signage is especially bad .
Is this something that will be fixed or is this just something that i/we will just have to live with ?

The fence in front is a prime example but also the cockpit is weird , why do we have this issue ?

Try repairing your game through steam.
Are you using the latest nvidia drivers?

Isn't it because PC2 uses dynamic TOD, meaning that shadows / light sources are constantly moving?

I have TOD Off to help stop shadows from flickering !

Yeah ,latest driver but may try verify in Steam if that is something that may help .

Aren't you guys getting the same thing with textures ?

I get the same thing on the Vive. Not tried turning off time of day but I did a 'verify' on steam a few weeks back for some other issue and it made no difference

I did a little at first (along the top fences and walls were real bad) but I must of got my settings sorted as it's all gone now. I used to get this white border on things also, like a white line between a building and the sky that would flicker but it's gone now too. It helped me to turn shadows off and get my other settings all good then turn shadows to ultra. The shadows can flicker and make it hard to tell what's is the issue. If your overclocking which is problematic for this game then it could be that.

Plagued by it on the rift. After many hours of trying to get rid of it, the only solution I’ve found is to have texture resolution on low.

Texture res any higher and, at a standstill, the whole road surface shimmers and flickers.

There is currently an issue with shadows. Only current mitigation is to run shadows at Ultra (which is heavy on performance). And, yes SMS is working on it.

I am at work at the moment, so going off memory here, but under the VR settings (not during race) there is an option for 'near plane clipping' or some such. I found that increasing this reduces some of the flickering of layered textures (white track borders, graffiti on Nordschleife barriers, etc.).

Just know that if you over do it things like the bolsters on some headrests, rollcages, and anything else near your head will not render fully.

    ^^What he said.
Increase the near plane clip value to lower the distant z-fighting.
