Did you slow down in time before the pit marker cones?

If the AI doesn't have the time to reduce the speed below the limit, the penalty is deserved.
Having AI pit stops doesn't overcome basic rules of phisycs.

You can't pretend to enter the pit lane at 200km/h (for example) and expect the AI to slow down to 60km/h in a split second.

Indeed, that used to work in the past but now exactly like Franco says if the AI doesn't have enough time to slow down there will be a penalty ! I've tried that the other day and got a 50s penalty i think

The tier 1 Indy championships will DQ you if you are speeding at the cones also. It takes some practice to be able to reduce speed safely from 235mph on the ovals so, you may want to do this in the practice session before qualifying.

Good point. Makes sense. I hadn't thought about that myself when reading his issue. Will keep in mind also.
