After doing the latest Win 10 update , nVidia driver and Asrock ME1 updates i've actually had a increase in performance , not huge but increases nonetheless .
    Timespy went from 10000 to 10200 , Firestrike 28700 to 29200 .
Gaming, i've only run ROTTR went from 81ish to around 85 FPS with my current settings (Very High custom/FXAA).
So i hope the next updates bring more improvements considering a performance hit was expected .

And some amds are getting bricked by the update.

Are you sure that's not just normal variation in benchmark results? How often did you re-run those benchmarks, before and after the patch? What else did change on your machine between those two benchmark runs?

Anyway, I read this morning that the predicted performance loss is mostly expected on pre-Win10 Windows versions and older (<2016) CPUs.
    CPU i7 7700K | RAM Corsair 16GB 2400MHz | GPU Asus GTX1080 Ti OC 11GB | Mobo Asus Strix Z270H | Audio SB Zx @ 5.1/AKG K401 | OS Win 10 x64 | Screen LG 27EA63V-P 27" 1920x1080 | Controllers Fanatec CSW v2.5 + UH, CSP v3, CSS SQ, CSH | Misc TrackIR 4 Pro, Playseat Revolution, DS button box

The only changes where those mentioned , Driver , ME and Win 10 and i've added a few games .
I test after every Driver update , so the number 2 in my test was when i updated to 388.71 a week or so ago .
I only ever bench with my 24/7 OC on both CPU and GPU , so 4.5GHz on CPU and +136 on core which sits at 2063 MHz other than when i undervolt (to keep temps down) for VR due to not monitoring temps .
If i push with Memory (12016 MHz) and Core (2088 MHz) it will score over 31000 but i dont test like that because i am scared to push my $1000 GPU very often and i have no way of knowing what my Memory temp is .

Usually test variance between tests i dont have one test all green in favour of any , it will usually have one score higher in the physics test while the other is higher in graphics and so on , it never looks so one sided like it does after these recent updates .

Thankfully the motherboard vendors has started to push bios updates, but I do believe they will have to change this in hardware too.

What I read is that it's basically a hardware architecture design flaw. So yes, Intel needs to redesign their CPUs...
