    1440P Monitor experience...

    Hi All,

As I still have an older Samsung Syncmaster 226B monitor (1680X1050) I tink, because I have a decent PC rig now, it is about time to buy me a new screen.
Mostly I play in VR or on the Playstation (on a 55inch HD TV (1920X1080)) So it was not very urgent to buy a new one. But as I want to buy some PC games like Assassins Creed Origin,t hat kind of open world games I do like the most beside sim racing, it is time to buy a new screen now.

Are there gamers here whom playing on a 1440P screen and if yes what are your thoughts about it. I have an i7 8700K and an 1080Ti so performance wise I shouldn't see big problems. I suppose my system can smoothly display the games.

I do not have an enormous budget because of my bought PC rig last month. :-) Budget is approximately €250 / €300
I have this monitor in sight. https://iiyama.com/gl_en/products/prolite-x2788qs-b1/

I know it is not the fastest response time screen but hey it is an IPS panel.

    i just got a 27" 1ms Asus 1080, for $149.00 shipped. I was thinking i should have got the Acer XG270HU , 1440p 1ms refresh.Its refurb, $282.00 shipped on eBay.everything else is high, like $400.00 and up.Thats too much for 1440 monitor,for me.

Thanks, yeah I can find 1080p screens for a reasonable price but I want just a little bit more than 1080p that is why I’m looking at 1440p. 144Hz is a bit above budget. An 75hz will do.. and I don’t want a TN panel but an IPS panel.

No you’re right, for 1 dollar you get 0,80 euro but the hardware prices is just a bit higher here than in America.

Also our prices are including taxes whereas most US prices are without.

Regarding the monitor: I have the iiyama GB2760QSU, which is a TN panel, but so far I'm really happy with it. The 144hz make the difference though.
