    Overheating, loss of power

Hi. I am having a bit of problem with overheating. At least, that's what I think it is. Basically, I lose power either partially or pretty much totally very quickly. I see a red bar in the speedo on the right, but I can't work out what that could be except possibly overheating. But it seems to happen very quickly - maybe lap 1 or two of a race or qualifying. It wasn't a problem before, but suddenly seems to happen ALL the time and in different cars. I get it even if I haven't damaged the car at all. And tips or fixes most welcome. It is really bugging me and basically ruining my races as I just cannot keep going or post any decent laps. Many thanks in advance.

Are you on ps4 or PC?

Your platform says ps4 but this is in PC section.

Nothing has changed on ps4 as I type as p4 has only dropped on consoles.
Cockpit view. 34 inch distance to 40 inch 1080p TV. Proper fov, 55. World movement 0, all other camera movement, 0.
G920, shifter, Raw, 100, 60, 30, 0, may change slightly. Skip and scrapyard rig.
Assists, all off. Currently play 90-120/100 AI.
1080p forty inch. Decent hifi, big speakers.

I have just been using the game.

There is no bar for temperature. Oil temp is indicated under the oil can icon. What does that show?

You're not talking about the brake indicator on the left side of the speedo are you?
If something is going on that your brakes are on, then that can explain why you think there's no power.
Maybe clarify or check that your pedals are calibrated??

Also, check that you haven't got brake assist turned on!

Hi and thanks for the answers. Yes, it is the same red indicator that shows the brakes. But it seems to come on in mid-straight or, essentially, randomly in a corner or whenever. I can be totally off the brakes and trying to accelerate and the brakes (if that is what it is) just come on. Sometimes I just slow a bit, other times it brings me to a complete halt. Today, I had this ON THE START LINE. I could not accelarate off the start line at all - or at least, only very slowly. Are my brakes overheating? Am I too heavy footed? Or is it a technical problem with the wheel/pedals? The wheel is only about 6 months old, so the pedals OUGHT to be alright. If not, is there any way to check? I seem to have posted, as you say, in the wrong forum, but I guess this is not a PC/PS4 issue. Many thanks for the help.

Go into the options menu and make sure that braking assist (NOT ABS!) is turned off.

Calibrate the pedals. It shouldn't register brake movement when you're not touching it. If your brake pedal is faulty, it'll show brake input.
If that's he case, you could give it a clean and see how you go.
